New Seaguar Fluorocarbon
Invizx is a great line. It is very manageable, supple, and never had any issues with it. I still use Invizx but I also use Sunline Sniper, Seaguar Tatsu, and Sunline Shooter. IMO Sniper is probably the most versatile and its not too expensive but all have the place in my rotation.

Haha. Your son is exactly like me as a child.

Is rod sensitivity overrated?
I agree with Burros in that its mainly the top pros like KVD, Gerald Swindle, Ike, Skeet Reese that get a top of media attention. I just am not convinced a top level pro is using a sub $100 rod when the company has better offerings. Ike is the example that appears to stand out to me.

I actually have a friend whose child will not eat anything homemade. If they don't order the food from a restaurant then he won't eat it. haha

Daiwa and shimano reels
Haha probably. I wouldn't be shocked at all if they release a competing product in the coming years.

Daiwa and shimano reels
Shimano has the DC technology patented so others couldn't produce a competing product unless they can bypass the patent. However, I do think Shimano will definitely continue to produce DC reels as long as they continue to sell. Eventually, I could definitely see the majority of there high end reels being DC.

Is rod sensitivity overrated?
I think so too. I think about it all the time. The main reason I think this is due to the example of Abu Garcia and Ike. For example, if you are a pro sponsored by Abu Garcia, why would you use a Veritas? Esepcially when they have superior rods such as the Villain 2.0, Fantasista Premier. It's all marketing by the fishing companies IMO. I'm by no means an expert in marketing/advertising but I figure that they decided that by Ike using a Veritas rod it will be appeal to the masses and get more people to buy the rod. A lot of people aspire to be like Ike so they are more likely to buy a Veritas than a $300 rod. Just my take on it.

Is rod sensitivity overrated?
Definitely! I agree that just about every manufacturer would love to have KVD on their pro staff. I don't know if picked them due to the fact that KVD liked Quantum products, staff, and their goals and objectives. Or if it was purely due to the fact they paid him the most. Maybe a combination of both.

do you tune/ upgrade your baitcasters?
Whatever aftermarket parts (ZPI, Hawgtech, Hedgehog, BOCA, Spool Speed, etc) you decide to go with try to order/buy directly from them.

New Seaguar Fluorocarbon
Haha definitely. I just found on the Seaguar website that it will be from $18.99 to $34.99 depending on pound test for 25 yd spools.

New Seaguar Fluorocarbon
Has anyone else seen the new fluorocarbon from Seaguar. Seaguar is saying this is the thinnest leader material they have ever made. I am extremely interested. I will attach a couple links to videos on YouTube for those interested. I saw a video on Instagram and I could barely see the line on the spool. It appears to be very high quality.

Rod Sensitivity
I just like things back by science, math, engineering, etc. While fishing does have information that can be backed and confirmed by science and others, a lot is heresay and opinions. An example of this is what the entire thread was started for in that measuring sensitivity of a rod. I may have missed it but when rods are able to be independently tested via a independent company by a sensitivity measuring device and labeled will be a amazing step forward in the sport of fishing for consumers.. That would be extremely interesting.

Rod Sensitivity
Awesome. Interesting to see the scientific side of things.

It's so hot...........
Dang. I would have though the storm heading up the coast a week or so ago would have brought some rain to the Northeast. Have you seen The Open Championship in Scotland? The course looks awful. The announcers said it hasn't rained in over 5 weeks there. Crazy weather.

Most sensitive rod in the $250-300 range?
And you should. Ahaha. Just kidding. Both are great rods. ?

Fluorocarbon.........Neutrally Bouyant
Definitely interested in how you like it. Looking forward to your review. I have tried only Powerpro, J Braid, and Daiwa Samurai braid. One thing I saw that has me interested is YGK G-Soul OHDRAGON WX4 F1 SS140 Sinking Braided Line. YGK G-Soul OHDRAGON WX4 F1 SS140 Sinking Braided Line is engineered with a faster sink rate than other braids, making it easier to get small baits to the bottom and cast in windy conditions. Manufactured using four strands of PE braided line tightly wrapped around 100% (F1) Fluorocarbon, the YGK G-Soul OHDRAGON WX4 F1 SS140 Sinking Braided Line offers a specific gravity of 1.40, which translates to less slack in windy conditions and a quicker rate of fall.

Fluorocarbon.........Neutrally Bouyant
I just looked up Hitena Pureline and it is definitely not a cheap braid. Definitely a premium braid at $40 per 150 yds. Specs and description have me interested.

Fluorocarbon.........Neutrally Bouyant
Definitely valid. However, I am not at all familiar with Hitena Pureline.

Fluorocarbon.........Neutrally Bouyant
I believe so. I think water absorption would impact the sink rate of flouro.

Do slightly out of line rod guides affect performance?
Awesome! Let us know how it goes. Goodluck!

Rod Sensitivity
You have missed my point as well. I understand you are claiming to detect your strikes via holding a monofilament line and watching the line. I am saying rods, reels, line, everything has improved. Thus, if you utilize your claimed technique to detect strikes with modern high end equipment (NRX,K2, etc with a fluorocarbon or braided line) then your detection will be that much better. As you have now enhanced two different components with a more sensitive line and a better blank. Goodluck!

Rod Sensitivity
Haha. State of the art 70s will not compete with 2018 rods. I'm not going to argue as life is too short. You can think whatever you want.

Most sensitive rod in the $250-300 range?
The Megabass Orochi XX Aklys is a phenomenal flipping stick as well. The balance is perfection with outstanding sensitivity.

Was about to mention them as well. ?
