I’m excited to see the budget minded stuff, including Shimano’s Base Rise? I think that’s the sub $50 reel, it’ll be interesting.

Easier to adjust?

I don’t have anything against other brands by my experience but what’s your Shimano woes?

I use a cheap medium rod right now and the Curado can cast a crankbait quite a ways, it’d be great for that.

Can vouch for the K, great reel. Very smooth and easy to adjust. The spool is very deep though, I don’t fill it up all the way. What do you want to cast with it exactly?

Do you have the hooks on the bottom? I haven’t had a hookup problem, I’ve even caught 2 largemouth in one cast on it.

Is there anything that can bend after a bass hits it? The duck’s feet bend sometimes and the bat’s wings bend very easily, that’s the only thing that sucks about them.

I’d get either a dedicated crankbait or frog setup. With the crankbait combo, you could use it for treble hook lures and the frog setup for heavier applications.

I would think so, unless you’re going to be making 150+ yard casts.

We use it in our pond, I don’t know what it’s brand/name is but it’s copper sulfate. If it’s the same stuff it shouldn’t damage anything, it’s not harmful to the fish nor environment besides plants.

Strike king baits come with great hooks in my opinion. I wouldn’t switch hooks out unless you have a problem.

Someone should weigh the gears between the two reels to see if their weight is different.

If you were going to use smaller, lighter jigs I’d go with the Chronarch but since you’re using heavier jigs, I’d use the Curado.

Yeah, I have MF and MHF spinning setups now, I don’t know what to do with my baitcaster, I don’t really have a specific technique I want to dedicate it to.
