  1. Ok, guys I know many of you fish the Holiday Park, Tamiami Trail area in kayaks. But we are entering the mating season in the Everglades for alligators. They will and have attacked boats if the female thinks her eggs are threatened. Cast a bait to the bank and it lands close to where her eggs are buried and you’ll see. Twice in my life an alligator has rammed my boat out there till I left the area. Both times I casted close to the bank and didn’t see her. For the month of May my advise is fish somewhere else. Capt Bob
  2. The water level has dropped even more since my last post here. The bass fishing is on fire. Enjoy my friends. Once the rainy season hits the fishing slows way down. Until then frogs top water early, jerk baits and worms will give you a great day. Tight lines. Bob
  3. Water has been dropping all over the glades from what I see. Holiday Park is still on fire as well. All species of fish looking for food. April and May will be very good till the rainy season kicks in. Buzz baits and other top water baits will really turn on soon. Watch for the gators. Their mating season starts soon and they will get very aggressive. Bob
  4. The water is dropping. At least for now. Throw frogs up until around 10am. Then go to a zoom v worm (I use mag) all watermelon color. I’m sure other baits work as well but this will get you bit. Not sure what boat you have but be careful for those rocks on the trail with water getting low. Stay motoring in the center. They can sure do lots of damage to a boat. Hope me this helps.
  5. Lost count lol. Every other cast a hit.
  6. Water level dropping. Lowest I’ve seen in a while. Fished for a few hours this afternoon and top water action was spot on. More tomorrow as I’ll be headed back. Bob
  7. What are you considering a giant? You won’t find those amazon giants in Florida. Trust me
  8. Your gonna need to go south of Vero to catch peacocks. Lake Osborne or Lake Ida is in West Palm. There biting nice there now. Or travel south to the Miami area.
  9. Friend of mine told me today he caught over a 100 bass in sawgrass. It was crazy
  10. I’m going to Kissimmee in a few weeks. Anyone have advice?
  11. Yeah the Oscars are hitting everything on some days. Won’t last too much longer. Fish the center canal. Wacky worm right now is on. Frogs early. That’s a good start. If you fish the alley crank bait the bridges. You might get a few mud fish there are nice bass in there. Bob
  12. Fished alligator alley yesterday. Caught fish on ever bait I through. Buzz baits, crankbaits, worms, spooks. You just couldn’t go wrong. The area is in post spawn so the big girls weren’t biting yesterday but bass up to 3pounds could be had. Bob
  13. Lake Osborne in West Palm off military trail has camping on the lake. Great peacock fishing. I know a guide that takes clients there every week. Bob
  14. You guys need to be extremely careful at the Everglades. The canals are not that wide and lots of very fast bass boats. As a captain I know each boater is responsible for his wake but most guys do not know that. They will blow past you pretty fast. Also when you guys blend into the vegetation you are difficult to make out at faster speeds. Just an FYI and be careful that’s all. Bob
  15. Sunday at sawgrass a week ago got lots of small bass. Nothing big.
  16. I was out at Holiday Park yesterday on a boat trial. The water was in the parking lot. At theses levels the fish are scattered in the flats. It’s just not worth Fishing the canals right now till levels fall.
