  1. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  2. Yes, I am VERY brand loyal and will only buy new baits/lures that are highly recommended by people I know or trust. I never buy anything on impulse and never fish anything "new" but untested. Examples of "cutting edge" baits would be the GYCB Senko, Fat Ika, Kreature, Kut-Tail and Swimming Senko. I fished these baits when they were brand new based on "trusted recommendations" and later the GYCB reputation. I was among the "first on my block" to fish X- Raps, Sammys and Pointers. 8-)
  3. Please send a PM to Glenn and he will give you a quick answer. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=43464F4B4C220 -Kent
  4. Okay boys, I need your advice. There has been a MAJOR shad kill on the Tennessee River. To take advantage of the feeding frenzy, I'm thinking Senko, Slug-Go and Pointer (MS American Shad). Any suggestions? 8-)
  5. The Core, but right now if I were buying a new reel it would be the CH50MG on sale for $187: http://www.***.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SHCSF50.html 8-)
  6. I fish the original Slug-Go exclusively. 8-)

  8. If smallmouth are an option, they would always be my choice! 8-)
  9. Send a PM to Thad and ask.
  10. Bobby has already addressed this with you. There is NO GARLIC in the new MegaStrike formula: Re: MegaStrike's " New Improved Formula "For 2009 Reply #25 - Jan 19th 2009 at 11:57:08 First off where are you guys fishing -and second can you fit me in your boat- It sounds like a good day on the water. As for the "garlicky smell" Its not garlic -its a combination of the foods and aminos. If you apply it to a plastic bait and smell it there is a very unique and distinct odor . Its probably like nothing you have ever smelled before. Believe me . When you talked about variables -and conditions -they are always different-We are actually looking for the word "CONTROL" When testing with live creatures there is no true absolute control. I know what was added to the New Formula and I wouldn't have done it unless there was a positive reason for it. We do not need any marketing gimmicks here. That's not what we are about.. Thank you for the feedback.Bobby@MegaStrike
  11. Thad painted two for me: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=4C5A4F485E493B0
  12. Lines vary a lot, but "generally" green blends better than clear in crystal clear water. In stained water, smoke or purple/smoke blends best. Although I no longer fish P-Line CXX, I always liked the P-Line "moss green" in every type of water. 8-)
  13. Hey Tin! Man, I'm not ripping on you at all. Your experience with the jigs or Shak-E2 jigs is terrible and I would be bitter, too. However, the jigs and jig heads have performed very well for me and I have never had an issue. Send them back to Bobby and give the new ones another try. Then report your results, good or bad. I won't let anyone beat up on your findings. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator

  17. Wow! Another amazing factoid about the Muddy Man. I knew you know your music, but I had no idea it extended so deeply into C&W. You da MAN! 8-)
  18. I fish both round (CTE200GT) and several low profile reels. For palming, low profiles fit most peoples hands much better. I spend much of my time striper fishing and strongly prefer my round reels for bigger fish. If you value your equipment, you don't palm a reel while drifting the Tennessee River. 8-)
  19. Higher quality equipment will not make a poor fisherman good, but it will make a good fisherman better. 8-)
  20. I have exchanged both St. Croix and G. Loomis rods that were broken by accident, having nothing to do with defects or anything that might be considered the manufacturers responsibility. The transactions went exactly as described: smooth...no questions, no hassle. 8-)
  21. When the Senko goes flying off, you don't have to replace all your line! I fish soft plastics almost exclusively on spinning tackle. My rig is a St. Croix Legend Elite ES70MF/ Shimano Stella 2500FB/ Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6/ Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hook. 8-)
  22. I have had good luck with both Mattlures Baby Bass and Shad. 8-)
  23. Well now...I don't know if it's true, but someone on this Forum might. I hope it is, the story brought tears to my eyes. ** I found this, so at least part of the story is true ** During college, Warner met his future wife, the former Brenda Carney Meoni; they married on October 11, 1997. Brenda was a United States Marine Corps veteran and a divorcee with two children when she and Kurt wed. She had also recently lost her parents, Larry and Jenny Carney, when their Arkansas home was destroyed by a 1996 tornado. After Kurt was cut from the Packers' training camp in 1994, he got a job working the night shift as a stock boy at a local Hy-Vee grocery store, in addition to his work as an assistant-coach at Northern Iowa. Warner was still hoping to get an NFL tryout, but with that possibility appearing dim and the long hours at the Hy-Vee for minimum wage taking their toll, Warner began his Arena League career. Warner officially adopted Brenda's two children, son Zachary and daughter Jesse, after their marriage. The Warners also have 5 children of their own: sons Elijah and Kade, daughter Jada, and twin girls Sierra Rose and Sienna Rae.
  24. I think it's time for you to find another forum, seriously. Your input is virtually worthless around here. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  25. I do! And some others, too. All on a regular camera, so if my daughter can copy and send them out, I will post some big browns. Mine are not in the same class as J Francho's, but a couple are just under 10 lbs. BTW. My 79 year old dad had an estimated 15-20 on for 45 minutes. Although he had it to the boat several times, it stayed just beyond reach of the net. Each time it jumped we all nearly had a heat attack! That fish never gave up. 8-)
