  1. I don't fish this rod or brand, but the guys that do seem to love them: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1232757822 8-)
  2. I recently purchased some P-Line CX Premium to try. The_Natural recommended it and I trust his judgement. I bought #6 for spinning tackle, but the line that was meant to be suggested was higher test for baitcasting, I think? Anyhow, after I spooled the line up, I tied on a jig to test it out. The line broke when I pulled the knot taunt. I then wrapped some around both hands...and broke it by hand! What was really dumb, I got so mad I threw it away instead of taking it back! :-X
  3. Hey! The people have spoken, and we're listening...We're working on something that will be announced soon. So for now... Goodnight Irene
  4. He's a pretty good draw wherever they have him appear! 8-)
  5. Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 Baitcasting gear: Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft #12 8-)
  6. This is the only shakey head I fish: Shak-E2 http://www.megastrikefishingproducts.com/shop/cart.php?target=category&category_id=63 8-)
  7. Wait until you see the price tag. So, back on topic...$389 is a lot, but doesn't seem outrageous if it's comparable to the Core. 8-)
  8. Welcome aboard! 8-)

  10. Must be twins from other mothers. ;D ;D ;D
  11. You guys are nuts. I just went out to pet my babies and call me crazy, they are beautiful. 8-)
  12. It's simple...Quartebacks are special, that's all.
  13. Nope... This thread is about quarterbacks. Protect them or it's GAME OVER. All positions are important, no doubt, but this is #1. 8-)
  14. Here ya go: http://www.tackletour.com/reviewrapalasspliers.html 8-)
  15. No, although I do fish tailwaters, the river system is relatively shallow. The flow is strong and as far as I know, none of the reservoirs on the Tennessee River develop a thermocline. At depth there is surely some difference in temperature due to daytime surface warming, but not much in the winter months. I should add that smallmouth, like most species, do not all spawn at once. So, there is a great deal of overlap between pre-spawn, spawn and post-spawn. 8-)
  16. DEFINITELY NOT TRUE on the Tennessee River. Our spawn is in progress and will be over in early March. The water temperature is +/- 52 degrees and will not be anywhere close to 59 anytime soon. 8-)
  17. No way for me. I rely on a very good drag system that responds instantaneously and performs flawlessly. I could never duplicate the intricacies when the huge brown fish surge. 8-)
  18. I find the IMX and GLX colors to be rich, deep and beautiful. Classic styling with a subtle accent, refined and true. There is nothing I would change. 8-)
  19. I think you're right, I sometimes read too much into a post. I always assume catching bass is the primary objective. 8-)
  20. Geez... This topic seems to pop up every other day... My answer hasn't changed very much: Spinning gear: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test) Baitcasting gear: Ultra Soft or original Hybrid #12 (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb test) BTW, Hybrid is currently on sale at BPS: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchResults?searchOption=products&hvarSearchString=yo-zuri+hybrid&storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&CMID=TOP_SEARCH_GO&x=13&y=20 8-)
  21. This topic was brought up in the NASCAR thread, so rather than going "off topic" there, this thread was started. The issue here is "Protecting The Quarterback". The comment implied that the NFL rules regarding contact with the quarterback is detrimental to the enjoyment of the game. My opinion is quite different: There are 32 teams in the NFL. I would argue that there are no more than 5 or 6 decent quarterbacks, but for simplicity let's round them up to 10. If that's the case, 22 teams have a problem and several of the "10" may not be back next year. How important is the quarterback? I would say 25% of the game, but on several teams, more than 50%. Losing a quarterback, or not really having one to begin with, puts most teams out of contention. The only franchises I ever remember reaching the Super Bowl without a quarterback were Washington when they beat the Broncos and Chicago a couple of years ago. Everything that can be done to protect the quarterbacks benefits the league, the teams and the fans. The NFL has the best business model in all of sports. Recognizing the importance of rare talent at the quarterback position is of paramount importance. 8-)
