  1. How 'bout Kentucky Lake in April: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?virboard=Global_Announcement;num=1206760719 8-)
  2. If you would consider a round reel, take a look at the CTE200GT. The reel is 5.0:1, a pleasure to fish and indestructible. I have two and would be glad to send you one if you want to try it out before making your decision. The reels are 5 and 4 years old, were serviced by Reel Mech earlier this year and are 10/10 aesthetically and mechanically. They are not for sale, but you can keep one as long as you like. -Kent
  3. I would recommend chili or ham & beans for dinner the night before the trip. That will make the drive entertaining! ;D ;D ;D
  4. No doubt, there is a silver lining. 8-)
  5. There are too many online options that offer free shipping to still "pay the freight". I buy locally from BPS and Sportsman's Warehouse. Otherwise, I'm going for "shipping included". BPS and Cabela's need to get with the program, set a minimum for free shipping and make the pricing model permanent, not "special". 8-)
  6. I fish from the bank a lot, too. Here is my suggestion: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196114229 8-)
  7. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  8. Over the past several months we have made a more aggressive effort to keep posts on topic and eliminate or reduce the issue you have brought up. -Kent

  11. So, I guess stray dogs and cats are much of a problem down there?
  12. Sounds pretty good...Wacha gonna do for her birthday?
  13. I've noticed over the past several months that the responses for less expensive gear have been nice and very helpful, but I agree with Raul, if you don't have constructive input there is no need to post.
  14. I would return it for exchange.
  15. I use the Double Wide as a trailer on a 1/2 oz jig. That's a BIG presentation! 8-)
  16. That's a beauty! ;D ;D ;D
  17. Most of them just didn't graduate and don't have "warm feelings" for the college they attended. What I find more interesting is having so many players from nothing schools. When "discussing" college vs. pro ball, I like to point out that every contest in the NFL is an All-Star game! 8-)
  18. Well, my wife doesn't fish, so she doesn't have any equipment. I thought I might buy her a CH50MG from *** since they are on sale. That way, if the wife changes her mind, we'll be ready and I'll already have the reel broken in for her. Whadda 'tink!
  19. Well, I certainly understand your point, but there have been a few "Magic Lures" over the years. The first I ever knew about was the original Floating Rapala when it was introduced domestically in the early 60's. The next was the GYCB Senko, thirty plus years later. I bet some of the first swimbaits were considered "Magic", too! 8-)
  20. Here's the story for those that haven't seen what has happened: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,486545,00.html
  21. I guarantee he will be fined and I bet he is suspended for a few games next year. Otherwise, a huge black eye for the NFL: ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING! >
  22. Well, we have "new" topics and fresh comments on a daily basis, but "best reel", "best rod", "best line", etc. does get a little old for those that are online a lot. However, it's all new for many! So, read/ reply to threads of interest and pass on those you find redundant...it's really no big deal. My "Best" at moderate pricing points: Rods: G. Loomis IMX, St. Croix Avid Reels: For baitcasting, CH50MG currently on sale For Spinning: Stradic 2500FI, ICAST "Best In Class" Line: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 for spinning Original Hybrid or Ultra Soft #12 for baitcasting Hooks: Gamakatsu Soft Plastics: Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits Jigs: Evolution, GMAN jigs and Micro Munch Tackle Jerkbaits: Hard: Rapala Husky Jerk and X-Rap Soft: Slug-Go Topwater: Zara Spook, Chug Bug Crankbaits: Norman Fat Boy, XCalibur Xr50 8-)
  23. 6 1/2' or 7' will be fine. I prefer 7' Heavy Power/ Fast Action, but I'm in the market for an Extra Fast rod. $150 has been a target price industry wide for a number of years. You have a lot of choices, but I suggest being patient and picking something up from our Flea Market. 8-)
