  1. Raul has been making the statement about all lure classes for years: A few lures are "magical", but what appears to be an identical plug can't catch a cold!
  2. We use them for catching skipjack on the Tennessee River (striper bait). Cast across current or downstream and work it like a jerkbait: jerk-jerk-quick pause-jerk-jerk-quick pause...all the way back to the boat. Generally we catch them near the surface, but some days you have to fish deeper. The key to landing the bait is bringing them in with a steady, moderately fast retrieve and lifting them immediately into the boat. For whatever reason, a fresh rig always produces better, but I really don't know why. 8-)
  3. Great job, I want your recipe. 8-)
  4. CONGRATULATIONS! To all the Steeler fans. Great game. 8-)
  5. More proof that there is no shortage of stupid... :-X
  6. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  7. If you're looking for a baitcaster, nothin' to talk about! If it's a spinning reel you need, Shimano Stradic 2500FI, ICAST "Best In Class". 8-)
  8. #1 Never bought a lure of any kind that required assembly. #2 Although there are many special techniques, a crankbait can be simply cast and retrieved. The key is the location: cover or structure. 8-)
  9. I'll get a couple for the Kentucky Lake Roadtrip, but I don't think I'll throw them in the river! 8-)
  10. The United States is invading Canada, televised live at 6:00 EST. :
  11. You da MAN! CJ, That sucks. I hope it doesn't last as long as they are saying. Good luck. I look forward to seeing you in a few weeks. -Kent
  12. Thanks! This post is especially amusing for me. I didn't grow up Italian, but married into the Mob. Now I find myself doing many of those very same things! "Living Italian" has its advantages. 8-)
  13. You guys are cracking me up! Two alphas "discussing" how many angles are dancing on the head of a pin. Very entertaining. 8-)
  14. Spro Aruka Shad? http://www.spro.com/products/index.php?cPath=49_91&products_id=309&page=1&sort=3a How 'bout size and color if I'm just going to pick up a couple? 8-)
  15. Too cool! That's a great pic! 8-)
  16. Nope, but if you do just move on. You are not going to change them so there is no reason to waste time trying. A very small percentage of Americans actually hunt, but the vast majority are not against it. Those are the people we should care about. One example will illustrate my point. Deer hunters should never tie their kill on the hood of a truck. When carcasses are being transported, they should be covered. Bambi mother's head flopping around with her tongue hanging out and blood are over her is not a pretty sight. Those sad, dead eyes really upset some of "our friends". So, a little common sense is all that's needed. Your rights have a better chance of being protected if your responsibilities are met. 8-)
  17. If you still want four seasons and short, mild winters you should consider Nashville, TN. No state income tax, a prosperous business community, state capital and big city amenities without the crowds. As a fisherman, a number of lakes and two major rivers are at or near your doorstep! Multi-species and BIG fish are other attributes. If you like C&W music, well you already know what that's about. 8-)
  18. Current trumps all other factors in the river reservoirs. When you have constant water release, the fishing is usually good regardless of the weather. 8-)
  19. Send GMAN a PM, he can point you in the right direction: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=0F2C221A0824222C262C242B450 8-)
  20. If you are serious, be patient and shop around. The auto companies can't get rid of their inventories. HUGE discounts are currently available and the deals will get MUCH BETTER in the coming months. Their pain is your gain, but don't be too quick, these deals are going to keep improving as the industry depression grows deeper. 8-)
  21. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  22. Not around here. Northern Mississippi, just south of Memphis, produces the biggest crappie in the world. There is a feature article in this month's In-Fisherman magazine about the four lakes. 4+ is not common, but many are caught every year. What I find amazing is that they can grow so big when almost all fish caught are harvested. 8-)
