  1. Perfect set-up for a GYCB Kreature: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1180909581 Note: To fish the deeper grass, I would use a weight, allow the Kreature to fall to the bottom and use the same retrieve described in the referenced post. 8-)
  2. You da MAN! I'll have to give those a try!
  3. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  4. Well, this reminds me of something my wife always says, "When everything is on sale, the more you spend, the more you save!" 8-)
  5. After casting you can see the side which simply accents the beauty of the reel. I have "Smoke" spooled up on my Core which contrasts nicely with the red spool, gunmetal gray casing and dark blue/black rod. 8-)
  6. CONGRATULATIONS!
  7. Now ther's an idear... ;D ;D ;D ;D
  8. Okay, this has gone far enough... Goodnight Irene. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  9. ** MODERATOR NOTE ** This thread has been edited to stay on topic which is NOT about your favorite brand of reel. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  10. From last week: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1232163269 8-)
  11. GYCB Fat Ika and 5 1/2" Single Tail Grub 8-)
  12. Yep, for those unfamiliar with commercial river/ reservoir systems, current trumps every other variable. For many miles below each dam, the current is obvious, but not on the main bodies of the lakes. However, there is still current if the dams are running their generators. So, as long as we have water release, we will catch bass. 8-)
  13. For big baits, including the Rage Tail Anaconda, I recommend the Gamakatsu 5/0 EWG Offset Round Bend Hook: http://www.cabelas.com/prod-1/0030842113363a.shtml Although I don't fish Zoom anything, this is the right hook for the 6" and 7 1/2" Slug-Go. 8-)
  14. Well, I hate to admit it, but my ponds are dead. I can't buy a bite. Over the past several weeks I have only had five bites and caught four bass. No bites in the last sixteen "fishing hours". I won't throw in the towel, but this cold weather has me stumped. :-[
  15. Wow! Never on a single hook. That's amazing and I'm surprised that several other guys have had the same experience. 8-)
  16. Plan for the worst and hope for the best. We all know how volatile spring weather can be. With a little luck we'll have great weather, but plan on some rain. 8-)
  17. Pick a guy or two that has posted on this thread that you feel like you know or trust. There are just too many commercial brands and private pours to truely pick a "best" jig. My main criteria are: 1. Sharp, strong hooks from an established company with a solid reputation; 2. "Stand-up" jig head, identical to a naked shakey head. As I posted earlier on this thread, I fish GMAN, Micro Munch Tackle and Evolution jigs. However, the trailer may be more important than the jig. With all of that, location and the way a jig is presented trump everything else! 8-)
  18. There's no one more qualified to make a professional comment. Thank you. Very clear and to the point. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior 8-)
  19. KU_Bassmaster, Man, that story really sucks! What a dirt bad... >
  20. Welcome home! ;D ;D ;D ;D
  21. Then get yourself the Hybrid on sale at BPS, I'll bet you like it just fine. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/SearchResults?searchOption=products&hvarSearchString=yo-zuri+hybrid&storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&CMID=TOP_SEARCH_GO 8-)
  22. Congratulations! 8-)
  23. GYCB Flappin' Hog and NetBaits Baby Paca Craw are my current favorites. For a smaller profile, the GYCB Fat Baby Craw and Double Tail Grub. I still fish Uncle Josh Pork, too. 8-)
  24. Congratulations! Great pics, too! 8-)
  25. Welcome aboard! 8-)
