Is it done ?

Yes.

We always discuss member comments and suggestions. Many

members felt the Elite Series was disparaging to other members,

especially to those who consistently contribute to the Forum. The

program ran for about a year and has been dropped.

It's sad to me that a few desperate personalities can ruin good things for the thousands of others. Sort of reminds me of a certain honorary project that ruffled some insecure person's feathers. Pitiful.

Hey- remember when you could just say BassResource.com isn't a democracy and tell someone to.... smile and worry about themselves.

I heard that I was next, and the powers that be thought it would be better to discontinue. ;D

Is it sad that I agree?

Hey Fletch - that project isn't dead.  Expect to get a PM soon.

Mattm - ya, we realized we were scraping the bottom of the barrel there.  ;)

Still waiting for my Certificate of Participation.  Everybody's a winner?  Oh, brother.  Congrats to those that were featured anglers.  It was interesting to read their backgrounds.

Hey Fletch - that project isn't dead.

Yes, I was told it could continue with some changes. I'm absolutely thrilled that it will, and hope to be a long time participant.

I'm still amazed that anyone could have a problem with it. People never cease to amaze me.

back on topic...

I'm only mildly surprised that some had problems with elite members... I think it takes a pretty high opinion of yourself to get upset for not being selected. To those that just weren't interested, they didn't have to read them.  It's like an ugly stick thread... if you don't care, don't click.  But don't ruin it for the rest of us.

Maybe we could still profile some "average members" or perhaps tenured members once in a while. At least then, those of us who are interested can read them.

I feel the ones the mods choose are deserving of the elite members and the ones that complain sorry.

On another forum I visit they have a "Member of the Week" thread where they randomly select a member and for a week straight other members post questions and the MOTW has to answer them. Questions could be related to the member or just random crazy questions. Its pretty funny......

just a suggestion

Going from 12/yr to 52/year ................... down scaling????

It doesn't have to be a flashy profile type thing, just members asking MOTW questions. And that MOTW could be the one who chooses the next, instead of everything being on the Mods

Cool. It will only take us just under 360 years to run through everybody...

assuming no one else joins the site. ;D

Wow, Spedra being "Elite" makes me want to go emo...

Where has the little ____ gone anyway?  :-? :-/

all i can do is laugh ;D

MOTW sounds good. it seems kinda neat about just asking them questions and they answer.

I like the ideas of the forum highlighting a member, whether elite or MOTW. I enjoyed reading the profiles of past elite members.

If someone has a problem with members designated elite, perhaps he or she should spend the energy to improve instead of complaining...

Member of the month sounds good; maybe it was the "elite" tittle that was the problem.

Guys their is no reason not to post the topic yourself you don't need a moderator. Just come up with a list of set questions and post them. Have that member pass the buck so to speak. You can cut "n" paste from the original thread.

  • Super User

Muddy,

I think what he meant was that anyone who wanted to post up a profile or answer a set of questions could just post it, without being "officially nominated" with a title.  Kind of like an expanded introduction.

on a less serious note...

let's all ignore what the Mods and Glen have decided

Some would say that "we" already do that. :D

Yea, it seeems I have a standing date with Irene myself ::)

That's some suggestion, let's all ignore what the Mods and Glen have decided

They started this to show some nice recognition, made some wise choices, others felt left out, and many complained via PM

Now we have a long time member saying, never mind their decision. just go ahead and do it anyway, GEEZZ >:(

Down boy!!!!    ;)

Dom, the ice will melt soon enough.  Keep your sanity my friend.... ;D

That's ok, I hear she's a little more challenging than Pettis!
