Titans Rule, Steelers Drool!
C'mon, it's the advantage of an armchair quarterback! I love me some Bronco's, but they suck!

NFL = ?
Although there are always going to be things that could be improved, the NFL is the "Class" in all of sports. Regardless of what seems to be continuous commercial breaks, the games are generally completed in nearly uniform time: 3 hours standard. I think that's remarkable. The league responds to fans: instant replay is a case in point. Every game involves "all stars" compared to even the best college has to offer. Most importantly, revenue sharing insures competative teams over time, unlike baseball's "Buy a World Series". And as far as "uniformity" goes, I like it and most fans do, too!

the best knot for 15-25 lb. flourocarbon line ???
Tip for tying new knots: Tie your knots with a small cotton rope. This allows you to "see the knot" in your mind. Practicing with the rope will make tying the knot with fishing line much, much easier.

Best spinning reel value
Depending on your pricing point, either the Symetre or Stradic: "Strong, smooth, silent and reliant."

Four Year Low For Oil
I guess... There doesn't seem to be much logic in retail pricing, but I'm sure we're being ripped off!

Titans Rule, Steelers Drool!
Actually, this was a pretty good game through the middle of the 4th quarter. The key was keeping Big Ben contained. The Steelers seem to be a running game away from be a complete team. Maybe we'll have a rematch next month. Good luck in the meantime.

P-line and Izorline
I do NOT recommend CX Premium. Maybe higher pound ratings are fine, but I will never know.

Core vs 50MG
Core Buy 4, sell 3 for $250 (easily). Your reel is free and the extra $30 will pay most of the shipping

Should I buy it?
I'm glad everything turned out fine. You're going to like the rod and now you can start working on finding the perfect reel! 8-)

Looking for a "name" to go on my all Electric Boat...
YES! Deep blue lettering on a white background with a deep red (maroon) exclamation point. For a little more spice, leg up on either side, feet in the air! 8-)

Should I buy it?
Man, this is a lot of drama for a $150 rod. I hope you don't buy a boat off the internet! :

small cranks rod
This is what I have: http://www.reedssports.com/Product/product.taf?_function=detail&_ID=13218 This is a great rod for small lures. I have mine matched with a Stella 1000FA. Although I use this fishing for white bass, stocker trout and crappie, it will load up and can handle much bigger fish. The Action is rated fast, but the tip is soft. Sensitivity is good and actually much better than you need for the techniques you described. Spend your money on the G. Loomis GLX when you are looking for a jig and soft plastics rod. 8-)

P-line and Izorline
Seriously, I know several guys on here love them some P-Line CXX and you might, too. However, I fished #6 on spinning tackle and #17 on baitcasting equipment for several years. It's tough and strong, no doubt, but it's wiry. In the cold, #17 in particular, will not straighten out. Regarding Gamma, I have only fished #10 which doesn't really fit me. So, with limited experience, I rate it up with Yo-Zuri. Gamma does not develop kinks from overruns, so that is an advantage over Hybrid. The line is very strong, smooth and limp. It also blends well in water. The downside is price. Maybe the cost is not outrageous, but it is irritating. 8-)

Should I buy it?
It will look like a brand new G. Loomis! All Loomis rods have their name, model number, line parameters and weight guidelines on the blanks.

Ugly Stik?
I edited my post while you were typing yours. I'm glad you like your Extreme and hope it serves you well. -Kent

Ugly Stik?
So which Shimano are you comparing it to? Surely not the Citica. Back on topic...The Ugly Stick will be fine for treble hook lures. For jigs and soft plastics I think another brand is a better choice, regardless of your pricing point. For these techniques I recommend Medium Power/ Fast Action. 8-)

How far south?
The Great Lakes region produces huge numbers and some nice fish, but 7 lbs is very rare. I knew you had smallmouth, but never asked about size. 5lb+ are fine fish anywhere and 7lbs is a trophy! 8-)

P-line and Izorline
Get some CXX, it makes for a much better slinky than XT. I recently tried the new CX Premium. #6 can be broken by hand! I got so mad I threw it away instead of taking it back. Floroclear cannot be trusted, either. Gamma Copolymer is great, but seems overpriced to me. Stay away from their Fluorocarbon, it is unfishable on spinning tackle and probably has more memory than P-Line on a baitcaster.
