Egg Nog
K.I.S.S. I think you will find that store-bought egg-nog is just fine. Bourbon gives the drink a deeper, nuttier flavor, than rum. Start at 4 parts egg-nog/ 1 part whiskey, then adjust to taste. I like this mix with a whiskey chaser. After one, I find it best to forgo the bourbon egg-nog and just stick with the whiskey!

Shimano core
Although the Core is a 10/10, the CH50MG is on sale for $181.88. This is a great reel at a fantastic price. http://www.***.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SHCSF50.html 8-)

A message for college kids currently doing papers....
Yeah, jumping on the internet is really tough. Team Pampers is so spoiled. Back in the day, Team Depends walked five miles to school and five miles back in the rain and snow, uphill both ways! You may have overheard the old farts mention the Dewey Decimal System. Bring it up on your computer, you won't believe people actually had to use this to do their research. 8-)

Knock Knock! Who's there?
If you're looking for a new spinning rod, pick off the Avid AVS68MXF in the Flea Market. 8-)

Rods- "Power" and "Action" Defined
Welcome aboard! Anything can be fished with a MF rod, but technique specific rods are more fun! My "all-around" rod for all treble hooks, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits is a Avid AVC66MF which has a soft tip. I use it mostly as my dedicated jerkbait rod. For light and medium weight crankbaits I have an Avid AVC70MM and for big or deep running lures, Lamiglas SR705R. 8-)

Jig fishing guys; Winter question for you
More than 99% of my jig bites come when the jig is sitting or as it is moved, but not on the fall. The reason for this is that I fish jigs mostly on structure, not cover. For me, the common bite is a sharp tap, not the tap-tap you get with soft plastics. The soft bite is "anything different." It took me more than two years to figure out the jig. This really surprises me and I really have never understood why, since my strong suit has always been soft plastics. It doesn't really make any sense. My #1 suggestion is fishing the jig exclusively if you are trying to learn this lure. #2, and perhaps the key to success, is developing a feel for the weight of the jig. After a while, and it took me some time, this feel will improve your jig fishing dramatically. 8-)

Yamamoto Guys??? Which trailer
Well, you will just have to give it try and see, I don't know the answer. What I like best about the Flappin' Hog is how it looks resting on the bottom on a stand up jig. It really looks alive to me! BTW, This is my favorite bait on the Evolution Shak-E2, also.

Yamamoto Guys??? Which trailer
Thr Flappin' Hog is bulkier, has more action and may feel more natural or fulfilling to a fish. The Twin Tail Grub acts more like a chunk whereas the Hog presents the profile of a medium-large creature bait. I still carry twin tail grubs and like the NetBaits Baby Craw, a lot! However, I tend to fish the Flappin' Hog the majority of the time. Another trailer I like is the Reaction Innovations Double Wide Beaver. If you're looking for a BIG presentation, this is the ticket! 8-)
