  1. Welcome aboard! Spend some time in the BassResource.com Library, "Fishing Articles" and "Tacklebox" at the top of the page. Here's "Winter Fishing" to get you started: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/seasonal-fishing-articles.html#winter 8-)

  3. They built a special gate for you and retain a personal concierge for your convience. 8-)
  4. Well, my answer is three fold: 1. You should keep your limit of the small, but legal fish unless you are given permission by DNR to thin the pond. Chances are, the pond is overwhelmed and the fish are stunted. 2. The rule of thumb is once you take all the fish you think you should, take out that many again! 3. With permission, you should probably feed every small bass to the coyotes and raccoons. 8-)
  5. Woo-Hoo! I know the new MegaStrike will be a big hit, especially around here. I'm sure everyone will want to give it a try. 8-)
  6. Specific recommendation that I own: "All Around" for treble hooks (crankbaits, jerkbaits, topwater), buzzbaits and spinnerbaits: St. Croix Avid AVC66MF which has a soft tip Light and medium weight treble hooks: Avid AVC70MM Heavy and deep diving treble hooks: Lamiglas SR705R 8-)
  7. Ridiculous... Tiger Woods is the most popular sports figure in the world and has been for years. People that don't play golf love Tiger. Regarding KVD, some of us don't think he has earned the title "Greatest Ever", but that doesn't mean we don't appreciate his talent. :

    Welcome aboard! 8-)
  9. I think the only way to evaluate a new lure is when the bite is on and the "new" lure is in the same class. Otherwise, "How do it know?" 8-)
  10. Keep that water flowing! Down river we are full and TVA has opened the flood gates. I hope the rains continue. Nice fish. 8-)
  11. Hmm... That's a tough call. I would have thought you would pick up a few by accident. It sounds like the fish were on a feed and you did well. I suspect the smallmouth were schooled and stacked up somewhere else. Generally, if you can find one, you have found them all! 8-)
  12. Welcome aboard! Smooth, strong, silient and reliant. This is your reel, Citica 200 E: http://www.***.com/descpageRLCSHIMANO-SCRE.html For your spinning rod, St. Croix Avid AVS68MXF or AVS70MF. 8-)
  13. Hey guys, lighten up! Lets stay off the forum and work problems out via PM or simply drop it. If you sent an item and can't track it down, so be it. No one is "owed" a "gift". Rather than editing this thread and digging a deeper hole, I'm closing it. Work your issues out privately. The whole idea was for fun. I'm sorry if this hasn't worked out for everyone, but it did for most. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior Global Moderator
  14. One hour Friday afternoon 6 lbs, 2 lbs; two hours yesterday 4 lbs. All caught on a white & pepper Karu VibraSpin. 8-)
  15. Although rated for 1 1/2 oz, I think it will perform just fine for somewhat heavier lures. I received a Deps Realiser for Christmas (1.5 oz) which I have rigged, but not thrown. The lure does not appear to fully load the rod, but I need to fish it to provide a better response. 8-)
  16. I used to go clubbing with a guy whose motto was "Go ugly early!" Regarding the combo:
  17. You can make it as complicated as you like or keep it simple: Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diametrer, 11.9 lb test) Baitcasting gear: Ultra Soft #12 (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb test) 8-)

  20. This is a rod that will meet your needs and exceed your expectations. The Lamiglas SR705R was designed by Skeet Reese for deep cranking, but is very versatile. I use the rod for all heavy treble hook lures, including the DD22 and Pointer 128. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/links/link.jsp?id=0037314120919a&type=product&cmCat=SEARCH_all&returnPage=search-results1.jsp&Ntk=Products&QueryText=sr705r&sort=all&Go.y=6&_D%3AhasJS=+&N=0&Nty=1&hasJS=true&Go.x=15&_DARGS=%2Fcabelas%2Fen%2Fcommon%2Fsearch%2Fsearch-box.jsp.form23&_dyncharset=ISO-8859-1 8-)
