  1. I think $20 is important when guys are loooking for the least expensive option. 8-)
  2. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  3. Here are my general thoughts: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1196114229 Specifically: Spinning: IMX or GLX SJR783S or 843 (finesse) Baitcasting: IMX CRB783C or 843 (treble hooks) IMX or GLX MBR844C or BCR854 (jigs & soft plastics) 8-)
  4. I have enjoyed the privilege. Dead solid perfect!
  5. I put my STX on a GLX MBR844C, but you should look at the BCR854 for comparison. Most of the Loomis guys are very impressed with the BCR series. The main difference is an extra fast tip verses the fast tip of the MBRs. 8-)
  6. Wow! If they hadn't run out of time and scored more points, the Colts could have won!
  7. Hot fire, "rare/medium rare". Sizzling hot, but red in the middle. 8-)
  8. My "topwater" rod is my most versatile baitcaster. The rod is a St. Croix Avid AVC66MF with a soft tip. This rod is also my "all around" rod for all treble hook lures, buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. 8-)
  9. Start here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1141187546 Regarding reels: I prefer spinning tackle for finesse techniques For all baitcasting, 6.2:1 or higher for everything except deep cranking Deep cranking: 5.0:1 Line: Spinning tackle: Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft #6 (.010" diameter, 11.9 lb test) Baitcasting gear: #12 Hybrid or Hybrid Ultra Soft (.013" diameter, 19.5 lb test) 8-)
  10. Lopsided and boring...unless you're a Ravens fan! Congrats Baltimore! 8-)
  11. Sure. The Stradic 2500FI was awarded ICAST "Best In Class". 8-)
  12. I had to re-mulch my flower beds, it's been so warm my spring flowers are starting to pop up! The smallmouth on the Tennessee River are in pre spawn, but some will be there in a couple of weeks. It's PRIMETIME! I'm very anxious to have another date with the fat girl I met a few weks ago. She won't get away next time. 8-)
  13. I guess I liked #3 better than you did... : Anyhow, I have high hopes for "Salvation". 8-)
  14. The Stradic 2500FI was awarded ICAST "Best In Class". 8-)
  15. Mattlures Baby Bass (1.3 oz) If you are looking for smaller swimbaits, Mattlures Shad and GYCB Swimming Senko have been good producers for me. 8-)
  16. I have two GLX, but my other rods are close to perfect for their intended use. I think "the best rods" are really only important for jigs and soft plastics. An entirely different critera applies to other techniques. All the rods you picked for your poll are probably great sticks, but what is interesting is that when rods are compared, the standard is the G. Loomis GLX. There might be a reason... 8-)
  17. You might not believe it, but he was much worse 30 years ago! 8-)
  18. Only been out with Hot Dawg once this year, last June, but I usually get over two or three times a year. I have been fishing with Tim for the last seven or eight years. Next time, maybe you can meet up with us. -Kent
  19. No problem, but if the lure exceeds the parameters of your rod, be careful. Lob your lure, don't flick it. The critical point is overloading the rod tip. 8-)
  20. Btech, Post this in the "Southeast" section, too. I'm sure there are a few guys that would like to get together. 8-)
  21. cotterboy20076, My apologies. It seemed to me that you were just jerking us around, but anyone who is a friend of Tim's is someone I would like to have as a friend of mine. I have deleted my post. -Kent a.k.a. roadwarrior
  22. Remarkable really... MVP...out Rookie Of The Year...out No doubt, both Arizona and San Diego brought on their A Game yesterday. Congratulations to the Cardinals and Chargers, that was some show! 8-)
  23. [movedhere] Smallmouth Bass Fishing [move by] roadwarrior. Welcome aboard! 8-)
  24. BassResource.com strongly endorses catch & release to promote the number of trophy bass now and in the future. However, we also understand the importance of professional resource management. Many states have slot limits, but restricting people by law from keeping a trophy seems too restrictive to me. Catch and release should be your option, but not mandatory. 8-)
