The industry is VERY competitive with many choices at every pricing point. I have other favorites, but the VALUE is around $150 - $200 for both rods and reels.

I fish the White River in Arkansas for trout occasionally and that is exactly what I have in mind!

So, what's the "cat's meow"? I don't want line capacity, user friendly or the best value...just a great rod & reel.

Well, that maybe true, but it sure is fun! We bought 48 shiners and caught 24 bass, all better than 5 lbs.

Last January ghoti and I fished with Nick. Our best day with golden shiners we caught 24 before running out of bait at 11:00. Our biggest bass was just under 10 lbs. The best 5 that we saw, but lost, were HUGE!

Save money somewhere else.
