  1. No doubt... My jerkbait outfit might work as a close proxy: 6' 10" Rainshadow ETEC68M/ Diawa Alpha 103 or Aldebaran Picked up these lures, too: (3) D-Contact 50 and (3) D-Contact 63 https://japantackle.com/smith-dcontact.html
  2. A picture is worth a thousand words.
  3. Senko since 1997. Fat Ika a distant second. Newer favorites: Rage Structure Bug and Space Monkey.
  4. I'll take it one step further: If you are in a tree and can't reach your lure...cut it off.
  5. I find that bass are often focused on either slow, bottom baits or moving baits. Jigs are a favorite for me, but not always the best choice. Right now "action" dominates. My recommendations are Red Eye Shad, Bandit 200, Rage Menace, Norman Fat Boy and Sworming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad.
  6. In 2008 Bull Shoals flooded after the trees were in leaf. Trees were under water and their tops dotted the coves with "Christmas trees". It seemed we were fishing in the middle of nowhere, but the fish were staging along the fall-line. This was the first week of June when for 2 1/2 days we never went 15 minutes without "Fish On!" Mostly smalljaws. The Three Amigos are fishing 6/1-6/5 with Tim "hotdawg" Curtis. Our focus will be smallmouth. but I'm hoping we can get out one night while we are there and hunt some eyes. Possible World Record on the horizon!
  7. Closer to home and bigger potential: http://arkansasroadstories.com/nature/walleye.html I have had my best luck at night on Bull Shoals fishing Lucky Craft Pointers.
  8. No, I'm probably 70/30 baitcaster to spinning tackle. And I don't mean to be "hating on" BFS, it just something that doesn't appeal to me. I always want to target the biggest fish in the water I'm fishing or the species I'm targeting.
  9. That fish and everything we landed in Florida was caught on spinning tackle.
  10. I don't think this bad boy (girl) would have come out of the grass she was buried in.
  11. Gotcha! "Why would you release a fish anyhow?" I totally understand why so many people think we're crazy.
  12. It's a fantastic tool for chasing that elusive 12lb smallmouth on the Tennessee River.
  13. Unless my daughter or granddaughters are playing, I don't care for women's sports.
  14. Growing segment of the market and some pretty pricey equipment being promoted. So...What's the deal? Is this for guys that have given up? Make little fish fun to catch? Micro fishing? I think I would rather watch girl's basketball.
  15. I have a small collection, but I have never caught a fish on any of them. They are too pretty to fish.
  16. The internet is your friend: https://www.google.com/search?q=freshwater+baitfish&rlz=1CAWPBA_enUS944&oq=freshwater+baitfish&aqs=chrome..69i57j0l3j0i22i30j0i10i22i30j0i22i30l4.7838j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  17. What is the brand name and who carries them?
  18. For traditional jig presentations: Rage Craw or Lobster Swim jig: Rage Structure Bug, Shellcracker, Eeliminator or Menace
