  1. Woo-Hoo! Way to go Nick. That's fantastic.
  2. Day at the Spa Girls dig it!
  3. I'm going to stick with fishing topics, I have gotten way too worked up on this thread. I really hope things work out better than the way I perceive the situation. Perhaps our recent success with the negotiations on Korea will change the direction of the Iranian confrontation. I do not trust the North Koreans, but if this deal is real, it may lead to progress in other parts of the world. The key to North Korea, it seems to me, is having a third party "sponsor." It appears that China stepped in with a very firm hand to redirect the talks. Could the Russians step in as a deal maker in the Middle East? I don't know. No more posts for me here. Back to fishin' talk.
  4. My partner and I play Country Music real loud. The big bass must think they are invited to a party and come a runnin'! However, they don't like the Dixie Chicks.
  5. OH NO! I just spoke with the manager of the BPS here is Memphis and he CONFIRMED that Shimano is NOT participating the reel exchange, nationwide! Wow!
  6. G_Money_FL, Welcome aboard! BTW, dodgeguy has been Mr. Power Pro for as long as I can remember. Now he is using and recommending Sufix... That's a BIG statement!
  7. Welcome aboard! The 3/4 or 1 oz Ledgebuster Single Willow Blade would be a good choice.
  8. Iran represents a "Clear and Present Danger." The leaders of Iran have repeatedly called for the annihilation of the state of Isreal and have threatened the people of the United States. I am not interested in vengence or retribution for atrocities that have been instigated by Iran, but I am unwilling to "respond" to a massive loss of life on American soil. I favor pre-emptive strategies including direct and decisive military action.
  9. This was the original question posted to start this thread: "Prepare the missles for launch, 12:01 AM 2/24/07" is my response. c312, I am sorry that you don't like the response and find it ridiculous. You are free to disagree. I say "Kill them all and let God sort it out." As for other nations initiating retribution, I think the magnitude of the diplay will disuade any other country from taking up arms. In future conflicts, there will be no question about our resolve to use force. Regarding the "global community," let them eat cake.
  10. GYCB 7" Laminated Lizards. http://***/cgi-bin/order/13-10-LAM The plastic is soft and the bellies are a lighter color than the back. The tail has excellent action which makes the bait appear to be alive!
  11. My soft plastics rod is a Legend Elite ES70MF. It is a well built, strong, balanced, quite sensative and I have been very pleased with the rod. I think the Medium Power blank compares to a G. Loomis IMX Medium Heavy blank.
  12. I buy almost all Lucky Craft lures on sale. Sometimes unadvertised, in-store discounts are REALLY special. BPS has some on sale almost everyday! If you are patient and have a store close, where you can drop by often, you will find LC on sale for less than $7 ocassionally.
  13. As always, Great Attitude! I wish everyone would take this thread to heart. Fishing is about percentages. If you fish for big fish, your numbers are going to be lower than the guy fishing for "keepers." If that bothers you, change your approach a little and catch more fish! "Only 1 bite short of the perfect trip!" Wow, that really sums it up.
  14. hookum12_0, Smallmouth like shiners, too! Both of the brown fish in my avatar were caught on big shiners.
  15. Bobbers are definitely the ticket for kids. For more serious fishing however, lose the bobber. I fish a split shot rig with the biggest shiners I can buy; spinning tackle, light line, #4 split shot and #6 Gamakatsu Octopus Circle Hooks. On still water, cast near cover and/ or structure and SLOWLY retrieve the bait to help reduce hang-ups. In moving water, try to allow the bait to drift as naturally as possible, clicking the bottom with the split shot. The Florida boys fish differently in grass and heavy vegetation. I'll let them describe their methods, but I think the main difference is fishing weightless and allowing the bait to swim freely. They tend to fish shallow, I generally fish deep or at least "deeper" than shallow!.
  16. "Quiet" is way overrated. There may be instances where noise effects fish, but on a commercial river, like the Tennessee, "noise" is meaningless.
  17. There are times when color is important, even critical. That is an absolute fact that I cannot explain. However, MOST OF THE TIME, "dark" works, especially with soft plastics. Well, and then there are those times it has to be white or white with chartreuse... Green pumpkin and watermelon are both consistant producers.
  18. Well then avid, I am 100% sure you will be successful, it's just a matter of time. I'm thinkin' maybe somewhere in Texas betweeen 3/18 & 3/23 might do it!
  19. That time has come. That time is now. Strike decisively, and take no prisoners. Make the statement unquestionably clear: Threaten America and you will die. You, your family, everyone you know and your entire culture will disappear, now, right now. Back down or we will create a situation that results in unimaginable consequences and unconditional surrender.
  20. cbfishalot, Sorry I missed some of those posts, this was all new to me. Lard_Bass, That is a typical problem with Rogues. Don't get me wrong, they are bass magnets, but Smithwick makes a cheap lure at a relatively low price and they DON'T CARE. I have exchanged more Rogues at BPS than all other lures combined. Yes, they can be adjusted with dots, but that still ticks me off!
  21. I fish Pickwick Lake and below the dam, technically Kentucky Lake. I fish Micro Munch Tackle El Gordo Tubes and Mizmo 3 1/2" tubes (Kent's Classic). I fish all soft plastics on a 7' MF spinning rod, St. Croix Legend Elite ES70MF/ Shimano Stella 2500FB and #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft.
  22. If you're not getting hung up, you're probably not fishing the right structure and/or cover. It's part of the program. Fishing soft plastics weedless will significantly reduce your snags, but you will still get hung.
  23. Adding Senkos and Fat Ika to the mix might produce a few more bites. They are my most productive baits for largemouth and I have had some success with smallmouth, especially fishing the Fat Ika.
