  1. Hornets? How did we get here? Oh well...let's move on. Good night Irene.
  2. Water retention? You are way overthinking the maintenance of your reels. Braid has no impact on the issues you have raised. Overruns, uneven spooling? Might be user error, not the line. Get over it and fish it like you stole it.
  3. Well, I don't care a thing about numbers, just size. I dream about the biggest fish on any given body of water, lake or river. Just one fish makes my day and just one fish made my year. I had the privilege of joining ghoti and his family for a few days In Orlando. The girls and the kids spent three days at Disney World, Gary and I used our time fishing for trophy bass on ToHo. Gary started us off with a monster just short of 10lbs. We followed that with a couple of 6's and 7's. An hour or so went by and all of a sudden, "There she blows!' It was my turn, so step up to the plate and shine. The initial fight was strong, but the fish was still green when it saw the boat. Out about thirty feet when it tried to bury itself in the grass. Fought the fish and the veggies as we got a little closer. Finally grabbed the line and brought her aboard. January 5, 2020 Personal Best...
  4. Here is some advice for the younger guys that are building their collection: Just buy an couple of lures once and awhile. Be specific, not general. For example, I would suggest a PopMax, Sammy and Cavitron and that's all to start my topwater stash. Over time you can add a zillion other options, but this will get you started and these lures are rarely lost.
  5. The Kent Craw matches well with a Rage Craw (Blue Craw).
  6. https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/abu-garcia-black-max-3-low-profile-baitcast-reel?gmc_feed=t#repChildCatid=3153092 For $40, maybe get a new reel and perhaps a different brand.
  7. I prefer a small piece of electrical tape, smooth and no knot.
  8. Hmm... Guess it's a matter of perspective, but I suspect something around $10 distinguishes what most guys consider "expensive".

  10. Definitely more reliable. A case in point is the Megabass Ito Vision 110. I still carry Smithwick Rogues (Perfect 10) and several Lucky Craft Pointers. Over time we all tend to gravitate to certain favorites.
