  4. All "treble hooks". Topwater, jerkbaits and crankbaits.
  5. A few years ago on a Bass Resource Road Trip to Pickwick I had my best day ever. 78 bass almost exclusively on a Sworming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad.
  6. If I am buying new I will have a specific rod and reel in mind. However, when something special pops up in our Flea Market I might buy it and then look for a match.
  7. CONGRATULATIONS!
  8. I use "remnants" which are basically "free". For spinning tackle, Tatsu #6; for baitcasting either #12 Tatsu, AbrazX or #15 InvizX.
  9. If you have a boat troll your line for ten minutes and you will think it's brand new.
  10. Bass fishing is tough right now due to the dingy water and below average temperatures. (I had to cancel a trip this week). However, my suggestions are for what is more typical this time of year. Your launch location is generally a hot spot. Specifically Second Creek and the rip-rap outside on both sides of the bridge. The next area I would focus on is Bear Creek, downstream a few miles. Initially I would start with topwater, lipless cranks and The Rig. Trust your electronics and look for baitfish and bass on structure. If you find fish in deeper water (19') I have had great luck with the BPS Tender Tube (#71), Rage Tail Structure Bug and Menace. 3/8 ounce Siebert Outdoors jigs with a Rage Craw (PB&J) can also be killer! Note: Most tournaments this time of year are won with The Rig. If it's working I would not fish anything else. -Kent
  11. Yep... Try a variety of lines and see what you like. I still have a couple of dozen brands that I still "like", but my recommendation is Tatsu for you. If you don't want to spend the bucks, I would recommend InvizX for spinning tackle and AbrazX for baitcasters. For less money, Izorline is a good choice and Yo-Zuri Hybrid might be another.
  12. Readily available online.

  14. Any frugal bass men out there? Not me...
  15. If it's just about "catching" I don't think it makes much difference. Higher end gear simply makes "fishing" more fun. You certainly do not "need" it, but if the cost is not a concern, you will like it...A Lot!
