  2. Hmm... I'm sure most guys here have stuff "good enough" to catch some fish, but why stop now? When I see those little carriages tooling down the road I have always wondered why they picked that particular point in time? It makes no sense to me. New isn't always better, but a lot of new fishing equipment is much better, especially rods & reels. Some of the technology incorporated in lures and baits are amazing, too.

  4. I am a big fan of rubber nets, too.

  6. I only replace line "as needed". On a couple of rigs I fish the line (Tatsu #20) is at least three years old. I have some braids that might be older than that.
  7. I caught what I believe is the biggest bass in a local pond five times last summer and fall. I expect to catch her again this spring and perhaps weigh her. We think this is the same fish that another Memphis Pond Jumper caught post spawn late in the spring. Although she "officially weighed in at just under 10 lbs (9.98), I think she fattened up a bit by fall. We'll see if she's in the mood to play in a couple of months.
  8. On the other side of the coin are the "collectors". Many of us have five, six or twenty of the same lure in different colors! Then if you consider soft plastics "baits" instead of lures, well that's what I decorate the walls of my man cave with. Oops! And then I almost forgot about jigs...
  9. Shimano now owns G. Loomis. It's odd that both subsidiaries would introduce new rods at virtually identical pricing points.
  10. Your new rig will make a fine all-aroung combination. If you are going to add another, I suggest getting a Medium Power/ Moderate Action rod for treble hook lures. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/130634-rod-selection-the-basics/
  11. Gary Loomis has NO affiliation with Shimano/ G. Loomis
  12. We like to do well in our category. A fishing forum is never going to be the most popular website on the net. For whatever reason there seems to be more interest in what Kim Kardashain had for breakfast than what we used last weekend to catch a bass.
  13. What? Wow, I don't think that is necessary at all, even if you are sponsored. Back to the OP, Why not ask or look through a few pages in this section before buying an "unknown"? There are a lot of good, better and great fluorocarbon lines and I don't know that your choice is one of them. I have never heard the line mentioned or recommended.
  14. Experiment with a fluorocarbon leader and see if you like that, too. The three issues with straight braid are visibility, abrassion resistance and the ability to break-off when you need to.
  15. My best last year was a Rage Tail Structure Bug rigged horizontal (white on white).
  16. We have spring, summer and fall "reefs", too!
  17. 2" of ice, 16* last night, 0* tomorrow night and snow on Friday. Saturday 57* then back down on Sunday with a rain/ sleet/ snow mix. Is this crazy or what?
  18. I hope not. That project and your review were perhaps the best contribution anyone has ever posted on the Forum. -Kent

  20. The Citica and Curado are VERY user friendly. This looks like a great value: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/151491-for-sale-shimano-citica-200e/
  21. I'm "Old School". MF, MHF or HF, but ALWAYS Fast Action for single hooks. Moderate Action or Fast with a soft tip for treble hooks.

Hmm... Insanity: "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." - Albert Einstein Here is a better plan: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/13845-guaranteed-to-catch-bass/
  23. Good luck guys. This should be fun!
  24. Go back up to the second post on this thread. The Ned Rig has nothing to do with a wacky rig.
