  1. The AVC70MM is one of my favorite rods. If that is available for $110 grab it!
  2. I wish you guys would keep all that snow and artic weather up there where it belongs! Looks like we are in for a blizzard here tomorrow night. High winds, temperatures dropping into the mid 20's and 2"-3" of snow. Fortunately I was able to grab the last loaf of bread and gallon of milk left in Memphis.
  3. I use both #4 & #6 on 2500 series reels. No issues at all.
  4. I listed a few on this thread: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/151381-quantity-and-quality-in-your-life/#entry1702089
  5. If you are referring to the GYCB Kut Tail, they simply drive bass crazy! Rig one on a MegaStrike ShakE2 and see what you think.
  6. GYCB Senko More recently Siebert Outdoors Swim Jig/ Rage Tail Menace Rage Structure Bug Jika Rigged Rage Blade/ Rage Structure Bug Trailer MegaStrike MegaTube Craw rigged on a ShakE2 Siebert Outdoors Storm Series Football Head/ Rage Tail Lobster Siebert Grid Iron Jig (PBJ)/ Rage Tail Craw Alabama Rig, LFT Live Magic Shad outside arms/ Johnson Silver Minnow in the middle Sworming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad
  7. The Alabama Rig simply attracts fish that are otherwise "uncatchable". We have seen this repeatedly on other Tennessee River impoundments, Pickwick in particular. 15.2 lbs is remarkable, but 10+ is a realistic possibility and has happened more often in the last three years than in the combined 80 years history of the reservior system. The common thread? The A-Rig RULES!
  8. Read this, then post questions: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/12403-jig-fishing-questions/
  9. Maybe a fair value for the price, but nothing special.
  10. On top so that the blade is pushed down in the water.
  11. Generally 3/0 EWG or 4/0 EWG Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hook (thin wire).
  12. This is a GREAT rig: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/dhc7-primmus-review.html
  13. If $240 is close enough, this might be the ticket: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-spinning-review.html
  14. $20 for a spoon? I can't seem to keep an $8 spoon away from the Rock Monster. I will have to become a better spoon fisherman before spending that kind of money on another tree ornament!
  15. I have one on order that should arrive in a week or so. I will post my review soon after fishing the rod on a few outings. This is the rod: E6X 843C CBR -- A 7’ one-piece rod designed to throw small to medium-sized crankbaits. It’s a great choice for square bills and will handle big bass, yet it's light enough to fish all day long with minimal fatigue, providing maximum accuracy and control. E6X technology allow us to make it soft enough for the bass to engulf the bait with plenty of reserve power to bring that fish-of-a-lifetime to your boat!
  16. The Chatterbait and other variations are simply alternatives to spinnerbaits. Perhaps the biggest difference, at least for me, is the trailer. I generally do not use a trailer on a spinnerbait, but always on a Chatterbait. All brands can be fished at different depths and speeds, but I find the Rage Blade to be best for a slow, bottom ticking presentation. I really like the Wobble Head that Bluebasser86 makes, too. As a HUGE fan of Siebert Outdoors I'm embarassed to say I have overlooked his Fogy, but will be fishing it this spring. http://www.siebertoutdoors.com/Fogy_c20.htm

  18. Had great luck last summer and fall with a white skirt and white Rage Structure Bug trailer.
  19. I use and recommend monofilament for all treble hook presentations.
  20. The "Big Fish" on this BassResource RoadTrip was fooled by a GYCB Fat Ika. 7.49 lbs http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/lake-guntersville-2012.html The most productive lures were XCalibur Xr50 Blue Chrome, white spinnerbait with double willow blades, Senko, trick worm (split shot) and Rage Craw Rage Rigged (summer craw). We caught fish along rip-rap and in the grass in shallow water ripping through the grass. Most of our bigger fish were caught offshore on humps near points drifting the Rage Craw. Last year's Classic featured the DT6 (Demon), soft swimbaits and Livingston crankbaits. http://www.bassmaster.com/news/and-how-randy-howells-charmed-last-day-leads-bassmaster-classic-victory I think I would spend some time with the Alabama Rig, too, if I were you.
  21. Shimano Symetre SY1000FL http://www.basspro.com/Shimano-Symetre-FL-Spinning-Reel/product/1207260456521/
  22. I fish the Senko and Fat Ika weightless.
