  1. How did we get to football on this thread?
  2. Well, in order to rank a rod from 1 to 10, I think you need to fish with a 10 sometime.
  3. My rod fits that description to a T...Avid AVC66MF with a soft tip.

  6. The line sinks, but otherwise it fishes much like any other braid. My deep diving rig is a Lamiglas SR705R/ CTE200GT/ #30 TUF-Line Heavy Core. For shallow crankbaits: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/pinnacle-optimus-xlt-dhc-review.html
  7. I fish Sunline Super Natural #12 for shallow crankbaits, #30 Tuf-Line Heavy Core for deep divers.
  8. InvizX #15 = .013" Stren #10 = .012 InvizX does not come in #14, but this is close enough I think to prove the point.
  9. Welcome aboard!
  10. Both Yo-Zuri Hybrid and P-line CXX #15 have a .016" diameter. P-Line is approximately 40% stronger than specified, i.e., #15 = 21 llb breaking strength vs Hybrid #15 = 21.5 or about the same. However, #12 Hybrid is MUCH more manageable and with a breaking strength of 19.5 lbs, a MUCH better choice.
  11. "The Reel Mechanic" was a BR sponsor for many years and a great source of helpful information. We will miss you Mr. Green.
  12. This guys claims no one is quick enough to choose back reeling over a proper drag setting, but what does he know? https://www.google.com/search?q=fish+chris&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=DqI2VN-gEsKiyASu0IDgCg&ved=0CB8QsAQ&biw=1536&bih=864#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=O7m-SZOsHwoIVM%253A%3BZMbpdnCWRsy66M%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.meanmouthbass.com%252Fwp-content%252Fuploads%252F2013%252F01%252Fmeanmouthfishchris.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.meanmouthbass.com%252Ffish-chris-with-giant-mean-mouth-bass%252F%3B660%3B510
  13. The majority of my rods are 7', two are 6 1/2" and more recently 7'3'', 7'5" and 7 1/2'. I am gravitating toward the longer rods. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing_lures/DHC7-761-CAHFS-primmus-review.html
  14. Well, Tatsu hands down, but for less expensive alternatives give Yo-Zuri and Izorline a try.
  15. I fish both the Silver Buddy and G ay Blade, very similiar lures. Although they can be very effective, I always lose a lot fishing on the Tennessee River. So, I mostly fish the Silver Buddy on gravel flats.
  16. P-Line is worth a try. The line is extremely strong and highly resistant to abrasion. The knock is memory, especially in the bigger diameters. For the price you have nothing to lose. If you don't like P-Line try Yo-Zuri Hybrid and Izorline.
  17. You might want to get a couple of swim jigs, too! I have had some pretty good days fishing the bluegill pattern with a Rage Tail Menace or Shellcracker trailer.
  18. Fish the line you have first. These are some other suggestions for your next purchase: #12 Yo-Zuri Hybrid, Izorline, P-Line or Seaguar AbrazX
  19. Check again, I suspect it is Medium Power. If that is the case, the rod is best suited for single hook lures; soft plastics, jigs, spinnerbaits and buzzbaits.
  20. Dude comes with some baggage, but when it comes to kicking, Matt can cure what ails ya!
  21. It happens occasionally with schooling fish and when there is a VERY aggressive bite. White bass and smallmouth seem to be the species that commonly fight after the "other guy's" catch. You can find a lot of doubles on the internet from guys fishing the Alabama Rig, but I have never caught multiple fish on the rig nor have I caught one on the outside arms. All of my fish have hooked with the center lure.
  22. I sure hope a couple of members pitch in to help. It sounds like fun to me!
  23. The NFL's focus on reducing injuries led to a huge increase in penalty flags in the pre-season. That trend seems to be being maintained now in regular season. I can't tell if there are more questionable calls now than before, but I hate it when they're against MY team! With all the re-play capabilities, you would think "game changers" could at least be eliminated. Regarding last night's game, maybe a couple of calls could have impacted the game, but Seattle would have still found a way to win. The Seahawks are the team to beat which is challenging even when an opponent brings their A Game to the field.
