Interesting Article About Mono Vs Flouro
The other post was locked because it got nasty. As long as people are cordial we will let this one run. Some members like the detail, others I suspect lost interest about half way through the second page.

Casting Reel Size
The weight difference between a 50 series and 200 is completely offset by rod balance. I fish both, but prefer the smaller reels. Line capacity and maximum drag are are non-issues.

Little Fish Or Skunked?
The fun fish was the gar. The fish struck out about ten yards from the bank, then bolted in front of the boat heading for the middle of the river. This run was classic BIG SMALLMOUTH. When she started to come up, man our hearts were racing, game on! Then she broke the surface. "Cheap Thrill" no doubt.

Little Fish Or Skunked?
Targeting big bass doesn't always eliminate the little guys. Saturday on the Tennessee River below Pickwick Dam: We didn't have good water to start with and then TVA cut it back. Still, we had a big day for numbers. Our two big fish were green, a 3 and +/- 5. Everything else was small except for a gar and drum. The only two species we didn't catch were stripes and white bass.Total count was somewhere north of 70 fish between 11:00 and 4:30. We went through 3 lbs of minnows and quit fishing early when we ran out.

Interesting Article About Mono Vs Flouro
Hmm... Line is so critical and inexpensive vs any other component of your fishing set-up. I can't imagine anyone that is really into the sport using inferior line. I test many and have my favorites, but no-name "cheap" line doesn't come into play.

Just One More Question About Yo-Zuri Hybrid...
Most of the water I fish is stained, the Tennessee River and local ponds. The best blend in this water is purple smoke. In gin clear water like you find on the White River reservoirs, green is virtually invisible. However, it's really not that critical...I fish clear too because it looks cool on silver reels!

Just One More Question About Yo-Zuri Hybrid...
Okay, I'll try to be very specific based on years of personal experience with both Hybrid original and Ultra Soft: #6 Hybrid original is strong and very manageable on spinning tackle. Heavier line will be progressively "springy" as you increase the size. I would NOT recommend anything higher than #8 on spinning gear. KVD Line & Lure Conditioner dramatically improves performance. Some people like the Ultra Soft better, but I do not think it is more manageable and I don't like the colors! My experience with #12 Ultra Soft has been limited, but it seemed to have more memory than original Hybrid, especially in cold weather. I see no advantage in this line vs original Hybrid. Still, you may like it better. Alpster prefers the Ultra Soft and that is a huge endorsement as far as I'm concerned. I have VERY high regard for his opinions. Regarding XL The line is very manageable no doubt. However, the line is stretchy, has low abrasion resistance and no enhanced strength, 6 is 6#, not 11.9 lb breaking strength.

Just One More Question About Yo-Zuri Hybrid...
Geez....You have three pages of response on your last Yo-Zuri thread. Buy a spool of Hybrid original and one Ultra Soft. Try them for yourself, the cost is very low.
