  1. Whenever I'm fishing with friends we always start out with something different and keep making changes until something works. At that point, most of the time, we start fishing the same thing.
  2. Don't know...But you're in the wrong section so your post has been moved.
  3. Well, you don't need any help! But for the rest of the guys, the Stick'r Rig is something new that really adds another whole new presentation to your game. It won't replace the T-rig, C-rig or Rage Rig, but it compliments many of the Rage Tail soft plastics. I'm a little partial to the Lobster.
  4. The schedule was for 10k early and 20+ in the afternoon. The current schedule calls for 11k all ***ht and morning , then 20+ from noon to 7:00. I don't think water flow will be an issue for you. Find your spots and try locating fish with a DD22 or your favorite deep diver. Once you find them, jigs and big worms are working. Specifically the Rage Tail Thumper (Black & Blue Fleck), 3/4 oz GMAN Big O with a Lobster trailer (Falcon) and GMAN Mop Jig (Black) with a Black & Blue Lobster. Two weeks ago the fish were all staging on the upstream ledge in about 14' of water.
  5. Just had the opportunity to fish the rod last weekend... SWEET!
  6. You really need to find a retailer to handle the reels. I have both the Core 50MG7 and 100MG, but much prefer the 50.
  7. Take them back to the retailer for exchange or contact Strike King Customer Service for replacement.
  8. Okay... If you want to get on the fast track and jump-start the learning curve it's really this simple: Hire a guide. Talk to several candidates and tell them that you need their help "learning" to fish. #2 Read everything in "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page and take notes!
  9. The rod you have is "technique specific". For an "all-around" rod I would recommend 6 1/2' or 7' Medium Power/ Fast Action.
  10. I have heard the numbers can be good, but the fish are small. Hardy is on the way to Bull Shoals for me, but I have never stopped and fished the Spring River,
  11. Ledges, purple worms. The lake is on fire!
  12. Mostly 7" or longer. Longer rods increase casting distance. An exception is my jerkbait/ topwater rod. 6'6" is easier for "working" these lures.
  13. 10" Thumper, Black & Blue Fleck
  14. http://www.anglerschannel.com/content/bassmaster-elite-series-pickwick-hite-hangs-8th-bassmaster-victory I generally buy baits recommended to me by people I know or trust. Occasionally a pro wins a tournament with something that seems interesting. An example is the Hollow Belly which won a tournament at Pickwick last year.
  15. No, I am VERY impressed with the Perfecta matched up with the Optimus XLT. However, the rig wis not in the OP's price range and I have never seen the rod or reel offered "gently used".
  16. Just got home from dinner with the baby girls and my son-in-law. Sometimes Father's Day is special!
  17. I suggest being patient and pick off a couple when they pop up in our Flea Market. St. Croix Avids are great rods and although the MSRP is ~$185, they are often priced at $100-$125 "gently used".
  18. 10" Thumper, Anaconda, Lobster or 3/4 oz jig with a Lobster trailer. http://www.bassresou...es-at-pickwick/ http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/103432-instructional-video-with-scott-martin-how-to-catch-bigger-bass-on-the-ledges-in-the-summer/
  19. Are you fishing Lake Martin? If so, that is ruined with spots.
  20. I fished Collierville this morning without much success: one bite, no hook-ups.
  21. There are two coves at the State Park that you can fish with a canoe. Yellow Creek has some protected water, especially around the ramp area just across from the Shell station. Get a map and you will see a number of candidates to choose from. However, DO NOT get on the main lake.
  22. CI4 http://www.tackletour.com/reviewchimanostradicci4.html http://www.tackletour.com/reviewchimanostradicci4pg2.html
  23. The reel is a "disposable". Get yourself a Citicia and make fishing a LOT more fun!
