Man, it sounds like they have been poisoned to me. I have the same issues with Germantown Parks. The fishing was 10X better when we had more cover.

Hmm.. I don't know where you are fishing, but the Tennessee River is 92 degrees below Wilson Dam, 94 surface temperature throughout Pickwick and 90+ below Pickwick Dam. I suspect your water in southern Alabama is much warmer than 84. Right now the big girls are in deep water on ledges. Most are 15'-20', but a friend of mine is killin' 'em long-lining in 35' of water.

This is still a blood sport. You should have recovered your lure, the fish has no chance of survival.
