  1. Welcome aboard!
  2. I fish for stripers on the Tennessee River, trout on the White River.
  3. Howdy! Post in the Introduction Forum, too. Not everyone visits this section. Welcome aboard! -Kent
  4. Swim jig has been working for me: http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/104358-grove-park-monster/
  5. We catch them all the time and spend a day or two in the spring targeting the fish. For some reason the limit was reduced a couple of years ago to 15, down from 30. I would prefer to have no limit on whites and spots.
  6. Well, you don't have to be a PQ fan to appreciate your ongoing review. I am VERY impressed and enjoy every follow-up post you have made. Keep up the good work! I look forward to the next installment.
  7. Well, there are different levels of live bait fishing: http://www.trophybassonly.com/id132.htm Targeting "trophy bass" might be more challenging than catching some saltwater species.
  8. Tubes can be T-rigged weedless with an offset worm hook, just like you would rig a worm.
  9. I would not recommend braid. Mono or Hybrid are better choices. Green matches up almost perfectly with gin clear water. Yo-Zuri #6 has a breaking strength of 11.9 lbs. This is all you really need on spinning gear.
  10. Rage Tail Shad would be KILLER!
  11. Every rigging is successful, but my favorite right now is the Stick'r Rig (Moaner Hooks version of the Jig Rig) http://www.ownerhooks.com/pages/newproducts.htm #2 would be the Rage Rig: http://www.moanerhooks.com/news/the-rage-rig/

  13. I don't generally use light line, but I just received the rod as a replacement for one that I broke.(St. Croix has GREAT customer service!). The only way you can get away with fishing a jig on light line is "swimming" in open water. Touching the bottom or running through timber are no-no's! My standard rig for small swimbaits and swimming jigs is a MBR 842C/ Core 50/ Hybrid #12.
  14. I prefer a double rig on a small 3-way swivel with different length leader. A 1.4 oz barrel weight is threaded above the swivel, the flukes are rigged on 3/0 Gamakatsu Offset Worm Hooks, thin wire.

  18. Fluke, Roboworm, 7" Thumper or Anaconda, Senko and Kut Tail
  19. That is cool! Just got the ribs going and all my honey-do's done! Man, it's almost noon and I haven't even popped a top. Got to get with the program... :respect-059: :respect-059: :respect-059: :respect-059:
  20. Tackle & Gear: NorthStar Swim Jig/ Rage Tail Single Tail Grub St. Croix LES70MF/ Stella 2500FE/ Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6 Started out this morning before dawn at Collierville. One small fish. Arrived at Grove around 7:00. Walked into the rocks at the entrance to the pond. First cast was along the right bank, no takers. Second cast was straight out as far as I could throw. The bass hit the lure 10'-15' from shore. The fish did not run, but came straight up and out of the water. She then ran to my left and I turned her back as she rolled, ran again and then up and out. A jogger and a couple walking their dog stopped to watch. I had to play the fish a little, my equipment was a little light to horse this Walmart Girl! I landed the fish, showed it off and released her quickly. The neighbors couldn't believe it, they apparently don't fish and never heard of catch & release. The bass was about the size of the one I caught at Guntersville (7-6), but a little fatter. This was not one of the Big Girls we have been catching this year, but she was great today! BTW, I hope all my local friends have some luck on the pond as long as we recycle what we catch. Although this is a public pond and it would be legal to keep and mount a big bass, you would have to be brain dead to do this at a pond you frequent often. This particular fish has the potential of becoming a double digit, the chances of that happening to a fish you keep are ZERO. Good luck!
