  1. Sniper is a fine line and a better value, but if price isn't an issue...Tatsu is THE BOMB! For treble hook lures and especially jerkbaits, the pros recommended monofilament. I use Sunline Super Natural. Note: I have been experimenting with a variety of lines and have decided to stay with Yo-Zuri Hybrid as my primary brand. The closest 2nd is Izorline, another professional favorite.
  2. The original US Reel was a spinning reel, heavily promoted as a "technical innovation". Once bitten, twice shy.
  3. My buddy from Florence spooled up brand new line this weekend against my recommendation. After a few hours he respooled. The line has ABSOLUTELY NO ABRASION RESISTANCE. It was pitiful.
  4. Snag Proof Frog & Rage Tail Toad
  5. Topwater: Pop-R, Spook, Sammy, Cavitron, Rage Shad, Toad, Menace & Shell Cracker. Shallow: Shadalicious, spinnerbait, Bandit 100, Norman Fat Boy (redeye shad color) Mid-depth: Red Eye Shad, LC Pointer & RC 3.5 Deep: DD22, Swarming Hornet/ LFT Live Magic Shad, GMAN and NorthStar jigs Soft Plastics: Everything Rage Tail, GYCB Senko & Kut Tail, Gitzit, Mizmo Big Boy
  6. 3 1/2" Gitzit for smallmouth, Mizmo Big Boy for largemouth.
  7. The first topic line in this section is all about the Senko.
  8. C'mon...It's stiil funny!
  9. For enthusiasts, technique specific gear is fun to collect. However, three rigs cover all the basics: #1 6 1/2' or 7' MH baitcaster for jigs, some soft plastics and spinnerbaits #2 6 1/2' or 7' MM baitcaster for treble hook lures #3 7' MF spinning rod for lighter lures and a variety of techniques
  10. Well, lakes and rivers are completely different. On a river, or at least on the Tennessee River, the main variable is water release (current and volume). By best day ever coincided with a rapidly rising barometer, post-front.
  11. WOW! Great fish!
  12. Awesome! :fireworks-074:
  13. Rage Tail Baby Craw, Craw & Lobster. The Baby Craw is epic!
  14. I bought the original US Reel and the Ray Scott rod. The rod was just "ok" and the reel sucked.
  15. Well, I think you are being silly. I don't buy in bulk, fish a lot and still have tons of stuff five years old. The new stuff ROCKS!
  16. Big O's interview here on BR and his new Rage Tail Baits, #2 would be the new Pinnacle rods & reels.
  17. My wife LOVES to pick weeds! I'm not kidding. As a general response, this Forum is "Family Friendly". That is a standard we will always support.
  18. I like darker colors, military style. However, your color choice will have NOTHING to do with your your fishing success.
