  5. Fish reported and weighed last week at the Grove: Wed 9.6 lbs, 7.6 on Friday, 5 and a few 3-4 on Saturday. Sunday I fished with 00mod without much success.
  6. Up river from the island just beyond the mouth of Yellow Creek.
  7. I'm thinkin' chili cheese dog! Mustard, relish and white onions. I prefer tatter tots as a side.
  8. G. Loomis starts at the IMX series. Look at the MBR 843C & 844C. Another suggestion is the Avid AVC 68MXF.
  9. 7'4" heavy on 80 lb braid. Don't forget to bring you lure retriever along, you will need it!
  10. Track contour lines looking for debris or vegetation; sharp contrast or dramatic transition. In our case, we were fishing the "up river" shelf of a couple of deep holes. Something you might find easier is to locate the old creek channel or an underwater road bed. You may want to fish the entire structure, but the best candidate are bends, especially if they appear to have vegetation or accumulated shells. If you have a high quality depth finder, you will be able to see both baitfish and predators.
  11. GYCB Kut Tail
  12. I don't know those rods, but I am VERY pleased with the Lamiglas SR705R.
  13. For enthusiasts, technique specific gear is fun to collect. However, three rigs cover all the basics: #1 6 1/2' or 7' MH baitcaster for jigs, some soft plastics and spinnerbaits #2 6 1/2' or 7' MM baitcaster for treble hook lures #3 7' MF spinning rod for lighter lures and a variety of techniques
  14. I have had great luck with these: Shadalicious, Hollow Belly, Keitech Swing Impact Fat and the GYCB Swimming Senko. You don't need any special equipment. I fish a MBR 842C/ Core 50MG/ #12 Yo-Zuri Hybrid
  15. No, it is not necessary, but I loosen mine anyhow!
  16. My Curado 50E casts as far or further than any reel I own. The solution may be as simple as loosening the cast control.
  17. Rage Tail Baby Craw, naked, T-rigged 1/8 oz weight; Rage Craw or Lobster, T-rigged, Rage Rig or Stick'r
  18. Avid AVS 66MLF/ Stradic CI4 1000F/ Yo-Zuri Hybrid #6
  19. Sounds great to me...Go for it!
  20. Hmm.... Greatest thing since sliced bread! However, worthless from shore.
