  1. Smalljaw or green fish, 5 lbs is the first hurdle.
  2. In my neighborhood nearly everyone flew their flag. Patriotism runs deep in Tennessee. SALUTE!
  3. The happiest moments of my life have been the few which I have passed at home in the bosom of my family. ~Thomas Jefferson My wife and I will celebrate our 35th anniversary this year. My son graduates from medical school next week and my daughter is completing her Master's Degree. My family represents fulfillment in my life.
  4. I suspect they were white bass, not striper.

  6. No, but we grow good ol' bigguns and big ol' gooduns on the Tennessee River!
  7. Welcome aboard!

  9. Pickeral are NOT game fish in TN. There is no limit and anglers are encouraged to kill every fish caught.
  10. I fish Shimano, but lots of our members seem to like the BPS TP just fine.
  11. Spend some time in "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page. Here is one to get you started: http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/worm-fishing.html
  12. Shallow: Norman Fat Boy Medium: LC RC 3.5 Deep: DD22
  13. Doesn't seem like the right situation for crankbaits to me. I think you will have much better luck with soft plastics and swimming jigs if you preference is for "moving" baits. The Rage Shad is another option I would recommend. Otherwise, right now the best bite around here is on bottom baits, soft plastics and jigs. I have caught a couple of monsters recently on the Rage Tail Lobster.
  14. Geez... Try Yo-Zuri #6 on your spinning tackle, #12 on your baitcasters.
  15. Well, this has been a remarkable year. More double digit bass have been caught since last October than the combined total in the history of the lake! Pickwick has never been considered a "big bass" lake. On the otherhand, if we're talkin' 'bout smalljaws, this is a "HUGE BASS" river system. In addition to some size, the lake produces big numbers on occasion. My best day ever was with WMD on the 2010 RoadTrip: 78 one day! The following day we didn't have quite the numbers, but both of us scored numerous 5lb+ fish. BTW, we weren't even in contention with Big O and the soldiers: 144 smallmouth during the worst storm you can imagine and two PBs!
  16. Well done! I would just add that one is a Shimano, the other is not.
  17. Okay, I hate braid! However, braided line has significantly improved my jig fishing. I also use braid to fish The Rig.
  18. Nope, but we're killin' 'em on Pickwick!
  19. For bass fishing, spend some time in "Fishing Articles" at the top of the page.
  20. Welcome aboard! We have lots of guys here in the area.
  21. Medium weight lures: St. Croix Avid AVC66MM Deep divers: Lamiglas SR705R
  22. Hmm... Why would you pay MSRP or more on e-bay? Lucky Craft has lowered their retail pricing significantly over the years and are generally available at a discount if you are patient and shop for "deals". As far as "value" is concerned, LC lures are far superior to amy of the generic names. Components and craftsmanship are top notch and every lure I own performed flawlessly right out of the box. Of special note are the LC Pointers, the best jerkbaits I have, comparing favorably even to the Megabass Ito Vision 110.
