Have a terrova with built in mdi transducer and I have been turning off my helix 7 everytime I pull TM up and run to another spot.I have been doing this because I heard if you leave it on when it is out of the water it will burn out transducer.Just want to know the right way to do it.thank you.

Noticed one of my tires sounded like it had sand in it last time I greased bearings.Weird.

Had to limp back to dock last week after boat started running rough.Checked the usual things and figured it was fuel pump.Ended up being a cracked spark plug boot.The plug end of the top wire was cracked in multiple spots and was arcing.Mechanic put new boot on and she is purrrring like a kitten again.Another thing to add to troubleshooting list.Installed fold down cleats all around,added two midship which work great with one of those short little bungy tie up lines.Also upgraded to 24v 80lb. terrova and love it.Makes fishing so much more relaxing,I actually use my butt seat for sitting alot now.Autopilot is amazing.

Has anyone replaced their cleats yet?Thinking about replacing mine with folding ones.Have one installed midship and I really like it.I have always been careful but the other day I set my rod on the bow to land my dads fish then went to grab it and get on trolling motor quick and snapped it about 6 inches above reel seat.An excuse to get a new rod I guess.

Have same folding cleat in same spot,i use it with a 4 foot bungy tie up line and it works great.

made mine out of stainless.the ones from minn kota are junk.youjust keep having to replace them.

Thanks for the heads up.Installed mine yesterday,super simple.Love all the things you can monitor and look at,and now I dont even have to pop the top to check my hours on a little meter.Not a vital component but definitly a cool one.One of those times you love modern technology.

I have mine inward with cover on prop when not on water.when Iam fishing I just leave it whatever way it comes up.Do have cut in pad from turning on accidentally while inward.

Now us garmin guys should be able to interface trolling motor and fish finder.I would imagine it will have the worlds best spot lock.Glad i did not pull trigger on terrova.
