  1. I would but I don't plan on being here for the rest of my life. Okie born and raised -I've done my time here and soon I'll be on to the next phase of the journey, god willing.
  2. Get some kayaks. No captains license needed. Edit: just saw the last post was a few years old, my bad
  3. With all the flooding here in OK, and record rainfall for months, I had a bad spawn/post spawn and got a little burnt out. My solution was to go catfishing with live bait. It never hurts to branch out and see what other kind of fish might be biting!
  4. Here in OK they issue paper licenses, so I just keep a photo of it saved on my phone. Unless I forget my phone I'm good to go. Another cool thing about OK is that if you are caught fishing without a license, they will just sell you a month-long permit (at a premium of course) instead of actually issuing a citation. I've never had that problem, because I always buy my combined hunting/fishing license, but I've seen them 'selling' these permits.
  5. Glide baits (haven't tried that hard). I haven never fished deep diving cranks yet. Wake baits, admittedly I've never fished flukes or soft jerkbaits (these are the same thing right?). I've never caught a fish on blade baits or giant swimbaits either.
  6. I like owner mosquito lites in size 1 for wacky rigging and drop shotting (nose hook). I like a tiny hook because the wacky rig will turn hook-eye down with heavier hooks on the drop, but with those little mosquito lites they gently shimmy the whole way down, hook-eye up. For me the wacky rig is all about the shimmy.
  7. If it's overcast you have a topwater perfect storm, otherwise; jerkbait, spinnerbait, lipless crankbait (go natural colors in clear water) and swimbaits would be high on my list for a combo of wind, vegetation and clear water.
  8. I just splurged on a few megabass dark sleepers and some small swimbaits for dropshotting. Not cheap but they make awesome stuff!
  9. I like 6th sense jerkbaits, I had a Strike Pro Inquisitor SP that I loved (until I lent it to a friend on a river trip and he cast it straight into a pine tree). The more it flicks out to the side and does loopty loops, the more I like it.
  10. I use the mushroom heads, 1/10th is my favorite. Lifted jigs is making an EWG ned jig that I just picked up. Yet to fish it but it seems like a good idea.
  11. Agreed, I have been enjoying my cheapo Pelican for the past few years. $300 is a tight budget, but between deals and used the OP should be able to get something that will get them floating. I got my first fishing kayak for $250, and still use it today. Here is a link to a video I made about the kayak and the mods I have done to it:
  12. Congrats! Frog fishing is addictive and probably the single most fun way to catch a largemouth bass (IMO).
