Medium power moderate action rods
The M/M avid i planned on picking up is shown on the st croix website but is out of stock. So there goes that plan. The only other M/M graphite rod they have is the legend tournament and i dont think i want a glass mojo.

Shimano Expride VS St Croix Legend Bass
Go to the factory and see if theyve got any B-stocks for 30% off... or maybe call ahead so you dont waste your time driving to find out they dont have any. Warranty is only 1 year if that factors into the decision.

The Challenge vs. the Enjoyment
Sounds like musky fishing is not for you, but you already knew that. Long periods of nothing with short fights to minimize the chances of losing the fish or having it die of exhaustion. Sounds like you need to fish saltwater, or at the very least target smallmouth on light line.

Don't think they ever were? I know theyve got a facility there and might paint them there, don't think theyve ever made the baits themselves in the US. Hopefully someone more familar will jump in with a reply.

American Made rods?
St croix premier and avid are both below the legend tournament price level and made in USA. St croix Mojo, eyecon, panfish, bass-X, triumph are all made in mexico.

Purchasing Boat in Winter / Sea Trial
Welcome to BassResource! I hate to say it but I think there is a risk. Biggest concern would be water left in the livewell tubing (you'd probably to test that out during your trial) or in the outboard intake which could freeze and expand cracking hoses or something else. There's a reason boats are winterized before freezing temperatures which aims to remove any leftover water. That said, I know a guy who fishes the river here in Wisconsin in March and doesn't do a thing except drain what he can.

St. Croix rod help
Return the MH and get the 6'10" ML/XF or 6'8" M/XF or 7'1"M/F Mojo. A M or ML would work much better depending on what other baits you use and how much they weigh. If you want a bit more flexibility in length look at the Premier or Avid spinning rods which offer 6', 6'3", 6'6", etc.

A-Jay's 2nd Annual Ice Out / Open Water Countdown Thread ~
This weekend the lakes had1.5' of snow on top of 6" of slush on top of 1' of ice. Lets just say the tipups werent set too far from the boat launch since travel was difficult.

No point in me doing it multiple times per winter since it just sits on the shelf the whole time anyways!

Winter Tackle Organization
Just reorganized my tackle into a single larger bag since i got some new baits that didn't fit in the smaller bag. Does anyone else organize their tackle and find things they forgot they had? Or even realize you've got more than you thought and maybe buying those new baits wasnt such a good idea? I thought i had a backup tackle bag and when i broke it out it was already full!

Help! Inexperienced fisherman!
Can it be used for other applications? Yeah go for it if thats all you got. It's not ideal based on most people's opinions here but that shouldn't stop you from fishing what you want.

Brothers I need your strength to resist a good deal on a great rod that I do not need. I'm afraid I will give in and you'll see a photo of it here in the future.

Medium power moderate action rods
Not sure. Possibly wasn't seeling enough sales and theyre going to focus on just having crankbait rods within the bassX, Mojo, legend glass, legend tournament lines. Thats what it seems like to me.

Medium power moderate action rods
theyve discontinued it along with the premier crankbait series ? but thats why Im considering grabbing one!

How far do you go?
Feels a bit less remote with the recent hwy 51 road construction but traffic was getting pretty nasty heading north/south on the weekends. Theres at least 1 eagle on every lake and i did see a black bear on the way to the launch two years ago though. My favorite is seeing deer in the water along the shore if youre on the right lakes. The wolf packs havent been too close to us in the last couple years but theyre around.

How far do you go?
Vilas county has 563 named lakes so thats all within about 45 minutes. The surrounding counties have a couple hundred each but not quite as many. Main spots for me are within 10 to 15 minutes to the boat launch. I'd say Im getting to know about 5 lakes real well at this point. I don't fish much when not at the cabin unfortunately since the boat stays there.

Medium power moderate action rods
Hmmmm i may need to pick it up and run all my cranks on it since they don't go over 1/2 oz anyways. Ill save the MH/M for deeper cranks should I get into that and also use it for rippin raps or bottom bouncing and spinner rigs for walleyes. I've got a M/F casting rig but find I don't fish much in the way of heavier jigs or anything that would require a MH or fast action. Doubling up on the moderate action may be worth it. Anyone use a moderate action for jerkbaits? I'd probably run 30 lb braid to a 10 lb mono leader on this. I like to straight crank jerbaits too like x raps (walleyes love this) or husky jerks that would likely cast much better on a moderate action.

Medium power moderate action rods
I found a great reel on sale that i didn't really need and now its feeling lonely so I'm looking at rods I don't really need. I found a great medium-moderate casting rod on sale amd am intrigued. I already have a MH/M crankbait rod that covers the cranks I use, so Im wondering what I could use this for. I think it would overlap and still be great for cranks like wiggle warts but wondering what other baits/applications you'd use a M/M for? Rated 1/4 to 5/8 oz.

Lund Pro-V Bass review
Not in the market quite yet. Need to buy a house, a truck, etc. Like i said its a dream!

Lund Pro-V Bass review
Im primarily musky/bass then walleye and crappie. Pro v bass xs is my dream boat. Maybe I'll get an 1875 down the line when used ones are reasonable. The 150hp would do me fine and be a big upgrade from a 60hp pushing 32 mph ?

Any Crankbait Lovers Still Out There?
Sounds like room for 12 boxes of crankbaits not 1

Is this enough trolling motor?
You could say the same about the money it costs to upgrade depending on your financial situation.
