  1. Let me clarify. When I say I am fishing Pickwick that means from below Wilson dam to above Pickwick dam. Road Warrior can tell you better than me, but fishing the current below a dam can be fun or frustrating. Try to find slack water near the current. If some spillways are on and it ain't too muddy you can do real good.
  2. Although it makes for tough handling in a small boat with a 40 lb trolling motor, I like to fish when there is current. The western end of Pickwick is more challenging to me, but I am getting better.
  3. It was caught Friday afternoon. I love Pickwick this time of year.
  4. I like to fish Pickwick when some spillways are on. I catch a lot of drum, but sometimes....
  5. There are some nice fish in the ponds where I work, but they will write you a ticket if you get caught fishing in them. I turned some good fish loose in one before they turned into ****holes.
  6. If your lake is frozen, you live in the wrong place.
  7. I went Friday below Wilson Dam. There were about 10 spillways on. I caught three smallmouths, the biggest about four pounds. I caught five largemouths, the biggest was five plus. And of course I caught a bunch of drum. Do NOT work a crank bait into the eddies.
  8. Giving up Guntersville for Wilson?
  9. I fished the barge canal below Wilson dam Tuesday and caught five keeper largemouths. One was pretty good, most were just keepers. I was swimming a Fat Albert grub. Randy
  10. I haven't been lately. I plan on getting in a few afternoons this week. Maybe I can tell you something in a day or two. Randy
  11. I just hope my wife is in a good mood. I'm gonna save my gas for better conditions. Look for warm water, steam plant.
  12. Rude people. Idiots that wait till they are backing down the ramp to load coolers, tackle and anything else.

  15. I am curious about hand held GPS units. If I know which waypoints or locations I am going to, will a handheld unit work? Thanks Randy
  16. Howdy from the northwest corner of the great state of Alabama. I fish the Tennessee River every chance I get. Randy
  17. :-/Yeah, I can always tell you what didn't work. lol All kidding aside, unless it gets really cold and muddy, something always bites on the Tennessee River.
  18. I ride also. I can see the temptation to test your bike. But that a- hole is a selfish s.o.b. If he wipes out, traffic is stopped while they hose him off of the street. Take it to the track.
  19. I ain't heard about sauger. But in the past I have caught sauger bass fishing and bass sauger fishing. Gotta love the Tennessee River! ;D
  20. Just fish! Have fun, practice with new baits or casting techniques. Winter fishing is fun for me because it is less crowded.

  23. We are kind of in the opposite deal. I can be on big water in a few minutes, and small water is quite a drive. Once again I admire your record keeping and hope to see more post from you in the future. Good luck!
