U should be fine i had a tandem axle ez loader trailer that hauled a 20 ft glass boat it only weighed 800 lbs and if your is aluminium ur talkein maybe 300 lbs if that galvinized maybe 500 lbs

I have a pistol grip lightning rod old model with a tec spec bc on it and 6 lb line it does 1/16 easy on a calm day its fun doin ultra light with a bc.the whole thing weighs 8 oz

Id stay with a shorter rod .from my experiance fishing saltwater and fresh you dont really see a gain in distance until you hit the 9 foot rod mark .shorter rods more control and accuracy which is a plus onshore. JMO

Get a center consol carolina skiff j17 we use them here on the bay diff sizes of course and they handle good in rough water

I use a 3.8 ratio abu and they work fine also use 10 lb big game

Theres a spot on many fish if it is hooked just right it will paralize them.same thing a snapping turtle does if he bites him just perfect the fish is paralized seen it happen to a 3 to 4 pound bass before and the snapper was small dinner plate size
