  2. hey flechero, im not sure if its plain luck or a good taxadermist but back in the 80's my grandfather caught a 33 or 35 pound striper had a mount made and its still fine to this day

  5. i dont get the major drawl to get a fiberglass rather than the real thing ,what makes em so much better :-?, personally i tthink that most/many fisherman take C an R way to far(ryme not intended) and in a sense worship it and think the killing of a fish for any reason is wrong when to me its not :-/
  6. talking is natural kinda like bird singing it wont spook them like the vibrations out out by beating and banging. i shore fish within 3 feet of the shore and im never affectedas long as you dont stomp around to much,which i do often but to a degree ti wont matter
  7. i live in delaware and the state record is 10.5 and citation weight is 5,if i can catch a fish 75% of the record (7.5) id get a mount,oddly enough that is also imbetween the citation and record so id feel justified in mounting it whether it be real or a replica,because as some say if it is that big it has already lived a full life and has already had a chance to spawn a few times just my $.02, RedneckRiot
  8. forget 2 center mass one head or hip,jus carry a .44 and it wont matter were you hit em,they will go down anyway or see the thing and know to stay away from somthing that big if there smart ;D

  11. to me 4,6 is too small,the smallest i fish is 5 feet and i couldnt imagine anytthing smaller,right now i have a 5,6 as my main set up and its great
  12. used to be made by st croix but know all the guys i ask in there say that they dont know and guess that it is made by a company that just mkes rods for companies like bass pro, and cabelas without their name on them.dont buy one for 150 i have one that cost about 60 and it is AWSOME,for 150 you might as well got for a st croix avid
  13. first off welcome to bassresource.com,this is a great place o learn and meet new people.....but to answer your question id have to say sufix seige, i use it in 8 pound test,its very durable and strong,it also has near 0 memory and in my experiances have never has linebreak unless it was right at the knot
  14. cool,if you can try to take some pics an put em up on the site, i always enjoy seeing te lures that the guys on BR can make and paint
  15. similar to what i do to get a crank out of a tree limb,,,,pull around 10 inches off the spool with the bail closed and hold the line off to th side of the reel with one finger and while aplying pressure by pulling the pole and release your finger like you would with a bow and the crank usually comes out after one or 2 tries
  16. if i read your post right you want to know a color that will work for bass that is similar to those in the pics??....if do id say maybe a gold shiner pattern
  17. a small (5-10 acre ) public pond that is only reguarly fished by maybe 10 people, located in southern delaware.pretty good bass fishin for my neck of the woods,,,also a 1/4-1/5 acre farm pond that belongs to my grandfather down the road from my house were i really started and caught my first fish and its got ton of blue gill and we recently tryed stocking it with various other species

  19. i have a pack of bass assasin shad assasins and was wondering how to fish them. the only way i know is to texas rig them witha a 1/8 bullet weight and real it in with a steady and slow retreive...any suggestions
  20. i too have been looking at the furbit frog but i never got to many responses when i asked,maybe one of the new guys will have some answers, regardless i think im going to buy one this summer just to see for myself

    my frogs work just fine without any added "anything" :-/ so ima have to say GIMMICK
  24. some days the fish just wont hit and today may have been one of them,but it could have been to hot,just like extreme cold in extreme heat the fish will go down deep and become less active
