Shakey Head Size?
I’ve just gotten into shakey head fishing but, 1/8 or 1/4 has covered it. I use mostly 1/4

Working on the new boat all day so I only had about 3 hrs to fish so I went to slam dunk place on little platt. Better day for only 3 hrs. Finally got my tatula sv tw hs103 bait casters broken in. Here are the first 2 fish to fall to the rig. Both came on a 1 1/2 oz jig with summer craw trailer. I don’t know the name it’s a creature craw from bps with ribbed body, long attenas, and flappy claws. Also caught my first square bill bass on a strike king rick Clune? Model Total improvement punching and flipping into pads. Pads don’t slow the reel down one bit. I actually like that bassx rod now. Total game changer. Apparently I cheated a bit on the bottom bass by 1/4 inch oooppps

I’m up north and Fished a new lake due to the high winds. Little long lake is surrounded by high bluffs on 3 of 4 sides. Which, basically ment it was the only place I could fish to night. Cold front came through on top of it being new lake. All I could manage was a smerch on a crank and a 17 inch bass ( horrible pic) on a green pumpkin 3/8 jig that I make topped with a summer craw rage tail. start work on the new boat tommrow but, should be able to fish at night.

How Many set Ups And Combo You Have?
Just for bass 6 casting and 2 spinning set ups. one extra accurist pta bait casting reel at the moment. I’d like to replace the skeet Reese crank rod with a better crank rod. The rod is way too soft and whippy for my taste. I’d like a faster action so I can get back to using mono for cranks id like to pick up another M spinning rod this winter. I have a m/l spinning rod and a MH spinning rod. Maybe spend about $300 +-on it. Other than that I’m set for the moment on bass stuff. 2 of my combos are cheaper maxx reels but, they work for trolling I have 4. 2 Okuma magda pros size 25’s. 2 spinning rods I bought on accident but, I think will be good for drifting or bottom bouncing. With a new boat I’ll be buying more trolling stuff luckily trolling rods and reels are fairly cheap trout fishing 2 set ups. st croix premier 7ft ul and phluegar president 5’6 combo. I’m Set here for a long time. I only do it a couple times a year sucker/cat fishing fishing. 2 junkie older combos I use with worms on the bottom . One is a older zebco. Set here

Wife thinks I'm crazy, let's see your Tackle "Reserves"
The wife knows about the rods, reels and equipment for the boat. However, I’m not dumb enough to let her see the reserve plastic stash. Out of site out of mind now I can make my own Arkie, roundball, and poison tail jigs. Her dad supplies me with 600 lbs of wheel weights to make them. She sees the mountain of skirts and such and I tell her look at all the money I’m saving hahaha. She thinks her brother booking a couple of charters a year is being a fishermen. So she is kinda clueless, works in my favor when I’m rigged for salmon, lake trout/steelhead, trout, walleye, and bass .more heavy on the bass stuff untill I get the new boat rigged. Which, primarily will be for bass but, can troll/jig for walleye and near shore for salmon so it just means more stuff

Your best worm colors
Historically a Pumpkin colored worm IE Burkley gulp crawler or zoom mag swamp crawler. Recently black/blue flake has been coming on strong but, I also think Its because I finally figured out the definition of what is clear, stained, dirty and chocolate milk. I tried force feeding green pumpkin colors in Water that was actually more suited for black/flake

What do you do about a deep line break?
If it’s a deep deep break I will just splice new line in. I usually carry FC or co-polymer FC in my tackle bag for leaders any how. So if it happens on the lake I either strip it all off or re-splice. I only put 80-100 yards max of FC on at a time . a lot of times though it is 40-50 yards max of FC line.

Tatula sv tw 103hs
Well the newer ones are like all matte black. This one has a glossy metallic look to it Current production from diawa’s web page on top. My reel on bottom
-
Tatula sv tw 103hs
I don’t think this is a current production model which, is fine it was still new in box. How old do you think the reel is? Or what generation is it
-
Tatula sv tw 103hs
Messing around with It in the yard I can pitch and flip a mile with it. I’m impressed so far
-
Tatula sv tw 103hs
Well I bought it on line Saturday and it arrived today in the mail. Paid $150 shipped. So far this is the nicest reel I have. 2nd would be my Carbon light 2.0. Excited to use it. I’m going to put it on my st.croix 7ft4 H bassx rod for heaving pitching, flipping, and punching. Very impressed with this reel. Knocks the socks off of my quantum accurist pt that it is replacing. Huge difference in reels once you get over that 120 dollar mark. I’m sure there is bigger difference once you hit the $200-$250 mark

Fished the maple today for my bday ( it was yesterday) and made my yearly trip to this awesome river. Caught about 24 large mouth bass ( most were legal) 1 really nice smallie( didn’t know small mouth were in there), 2 dog fish ( woof woof), a huge crappie, and a hammer handle pike. Most came on t-rigged berkly havoc craw fatty, than black and blue flake chigger craw, and my black and blue swim jig I make. The craw fattys were a fluke I bought a pack last year and could never get them to work. I nailed the first bass on the black/blue flake chigger craw. I’d prefer to save the chigger craws for the Tittabawassee. So I was looking for an excuse to get rid of the craw fatties so I though well if they will hit a chigger craw they should enjoy a craw fatty. They are just like a upsized chigger And boy did they!!!! I used every last one. So I caught fish and made room in my craw binder this Will be the last trip for a long time. New boat is to big to get down the maple. I can run wide open in the road runner. The river avg about 5 feet Here are the high lights This wasn’t my best photo session. The bright sun made it hard to see my screen

Does wading scare bass away?
No It does not as long as you arnt crashing through the water like a grizzly bear. If you do spook one while wading usually just standing still will bring them back. I’ve been putting in docks before while in the water and they will some times just hang out with you while. It’s kinda a “ what are doing I want to see too”” curiosity.

COVID 2.0? (Tackle and such)
Just means more money for more fish. Each hunting and fishing item has an federal excise tax on it. That money that gets redistributed back the various states. So it should mean more fishing opportunities for sportsmen. Including but, not limited to fish stocking and habitat improvements. In the state of Michigan the Inland bass, pike, and walleye have been the red headed step children to the silver fish in the Great Lakes. Even though we have thousands of In land lakes most don’t have a management plan or strategy. Don’t get me wrong I love fish for salmon and steelhead but, the inland guys need some live too.

COVID 2.0? (Tackle and such)
On line should be g2g. It’s just the big box stores that buy a crap ton of tackle once or twice a year. Which, normally is enough to get them through the summer. What I was told is that China stopped producing in February when they shut everything down. The US than shut down everything in end of March-May ( most places). Sounds like most places at least up north get there tackle in around April to last the summer. Well they got gun shy about it. than China opened back up but, we weren’t buying anything because, we were shut down. Than China went through round 2 and now so are we. The supply chain is all messed up. I doubt being it is July that the big box stores will be buying much more tackle as their eye is now getting ready for hunting season. Most people in Michigan start shutting fishing season down after Labor Day. So there is about 60 days left of fishing for most people. The big box stores won’t put big capital into inventory when they only have Roughly 60 days to get a return on their investment. the mfg want to sell it but, have nobody to sell it too meaning the big box stores. It wouldn’t surprise me if at least the USA tackle mfgs don’t start just selling direct to customers. That’s if they are even open and producing. Guy at cabelas said they can’t even restock on rods and reels at the moment because, most of it all comes from over seas

Trolling motor
I actually went with Terrova with 80 lbs thrust and 60 inch shaft. I was dang lucky to get it too. I called 4-5 differnt places looking for either a motorguide or minnekota. Looked all over the net looking for either brand. The cabelas I bought this from in Saginaw only have 2 trolling motors left in stock after I bought this one. the 2 that were left as of Thursday are the lower end models. Most every model of trolling motor is on back order and they don’t know when they are getting more. Thank you though for responding though

Fishing Tackle has been wiped out from stores.
The off the beaten path places still have decent tackle selection. Might pay a little more. But, other than that your kinda stuck ordering right from the MFg if they are open.

Picked this up today
Where is that ? I don’t need it now but, for the future. I’m sure you can find 1 or 2 motors here and there at the smaller shops. editv: D&r is in Kalamazoo area ? I’ve always wanted to check that place out

Picked this up today
I called north woods and franks they had zero of them doesn’t matter make or model . Transom or bow mounted. Went to Hicks and they have zero In fact they won’t even talk about them. This was cabelas last one And it was hidden in the back. They have 2 left in Michigan. Online same thing. Nobody can order them nor do they know when they can get them again. Tried 2 places on line that said they had them. only to get emails a couple of hours later saying that they were back ordered guy at cabelas says he doesn’t have fish finders. It is starting to be they can’t even order rod and reels .

The Found Lures Thread
My swim jig found this last week on the Tittabawassee river attached to some really heavy braid. Must be left over from spring walleye trolling. Hooks were fairly new and it’s missing an eye. I can fix the eye issue. Replace hooks and should be good to go. I’m not really sure who makes it

California 420
To me it seems like a really dark water Mellon color with red flake. I’ve only used it on a zoom z craw while, It was attached to 1 1/2 Oz jig punching pads. Had real good success with them last August mid day on little platte lake ( really clear shallow lake) . Can’t really get it to go any where else
-
Picked this up today
I bet. They are probably the best thing since sliced bread. I can use it for bass and walleye fishing. When I get a bigger boat In a couple of years I can just put it on it.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I think this is the last trolling motor in America untill over seas gets restarted. It maybe built here but, some components come from over seas

Picked this up today
Picked this up today after calling all over the state found it at cabelas of all places. Said they can’t order any trolling motors nor do they know when they will show up. Most places on line are sold out also. Glad I got this or my new boat would have been useless this year
