  1. Grammar nazis, it is “tatter” or po-tater, not puh ta toe ;=)
  2. http://www.batteriesnorthwest.com/batteryschool.cfm?TID=2 Very good advice provided in the link,, one word of caution to add, please do not over fill your batteries with water, never fill them to the “top”, never “fill” them before charging, just cover the plates. edit to add: chargers for deep cycle batteries if designed correctly will have 3 stages of their charging cycle, and will always end with “trickle” mode. You have 12 volts, 2 volts per cell, they will not discharge equally, so the trickle charge evens them up.
  3. I just bought the MK 315D, mostly due to the reviews. It’s my first onboard charger so I can’t rate it,,,,, yet. Lol I know it’s a heavy bassturd,

    Nice
  5. I would agree with most statements here, however I am partial to black or dark colors in murky or stained water. The absence of light means the absence of color, so most every color would appear dark,,, so,
  6. I agree with the strategy, structure and cover are key, that’s why I like my topo lake maps so much

    Thk u
  8. I can understand the side scan, that makes more sense to my old brain. I guess I’m too old school for all that, plus the fact if I can see em and still not catch em, I might get a lil frustrated lol,,,
  9. Some redneck some where will have this mounted on a 20 yr old Ranger before years end lol
  10. That’s my point, you can see what’s under you, not what the features are 20 or more feet away from you. Unless you are down fishing, which isn’t cast and retrieve bass fishing. I’m not trying to argue here, just trying to understand the importance being placed in expensive sonar,
  11. What he said!!!! That creek bed along side Lucky Island also
  12. I think you are using the wrong line. You need Berkeley Trilene, Mean Green. 20 or 25 pound test. Change it about once a month if you fish often, change it more frequently if you don’t fish at least once a week.
  13. Hope you enjoy the boat, thank you for your service, and you should be moved to the head of the line anyway....imho
  14. You have a ground issue, you will “see” the 12v with a meter, but without the ground there is no “flow”. If you un-hook the trailer but plug in the harness you would have no ground for the trailer lights, same principle if it is on the hitch but there is a issue with the ground wire somewhere around the connector,,,,, maybe the reason the indicator light goes out when you plug the trailer in. edit to say: should be a fairly easy fix if the problem isn’t internal to the plug, the grounding points should be easy enough to check.
  15. I am as serious as I can be when I say, I cannot for the life of me understand the need for a “fish finder” for bass fishermen. I fully understand sonar, it’s uses and benefits for seeing the underwater details,,,, but unless you are in 30’ or deeper, sonar does not come close to showing what’s under you,,, I have never caught a bass of any size closer than 15’ or so from my boat, in deeper than 8’ of water. The suspended bass I have caught were on structure I had located with the cheapest Humingbird on the market in the middle 1990’s. I have friends that Striper fish, they have high dollar sonar, I understand that use of sonar,,, but LMB????
  16. Welcome,,, and look at the fat girl
  17. Yes there is, shoot the sob waving it around,, ;=)

    Tanks
  20. Welcome to the party, come on in off the porch,,
  21. I get that in a “ normal” pond, lol, but a pond that size with that many 5 lb’ers ain’t gonna have many fry! Lol none that last anyway lol
  22. I was always led to believe that a pond like that needed some of the larger bass harvested, to allow more fish to reach trophy size. Small pond like that cannot support (feed) that many big fish, can it????
  23. My horror story. Fishing in a jon boat, thunderstorm rolling in. Me, at the time I was 10' tall and bullet proof. As the storm got real close, every time I'd cast, I'd hear this strange clicking sound. Finally figured it out, static electricity popping the end of my graphite rod as I cast, all this was happening behind and over my head. I realized what was happening, cranked up and hauled ass back the ramp, tied the boat to the dock and sat it out in the truck...
