I'm using a Fluke style bait So basically the water current will keep it suspended ? even in a pond :? i was worried that the bait would bend the hook down against the line so the bait faces straight up to the sky

So basically once the bait hits the water the bait will float a bit causing the bait to be straight up ? i got it pretty close to the hook pointing straight up but it's not like perfect like i see all these pros doing it The one time i did it right the hook was straighter than it is now

what am i doing wrong ... seriously WTH ! i did it right flipping once now all the stupid hook does is bend down i literally have used almost ALL of my line just trying to get this right ! why am i so stupid ? is it just too hard of a knot to do ? or rig? but i did it right 1 time .... the hook stayed up and everything?

I have 0 idea what I’m doing wrong right now i rigged it right ONCE! Now all of a sudden I’ve turned into an idiot and don’t know what to do.... when tying the palomar knot do i pull on BOTH tag and main line to cinch? Or just main or just tag!?!? No one shows that part in tutorials very well

So i usually had spool my reel ... buy the line and all that but i have seen a few devices like on amazon and such that help you spool your reel more efficiently i guess? one of them is by piscifun and i wanted to know if anyone else used these devices or a device that is similar to help make the process easier and more correct Also i have brought my reels to the local tackle shop to get the reels spooled and they usually do a fantastic job of putting line on where it's nice and even and feels like theres no issues (where as sometimes when i spool my reels i feel as though i get a lot of kinks in the line and other issues in the middle of fishing) I feel like this is a general topic so this is why i'm here in general it's not specifically line it's the device i'm thinking about getting like is it worth the money or is it not

It's a very very murky pond best i can see down is probably a foot and a half maybe 2 feet so sometimes i'm using paddletail swimbaits and out of no where it will just catch weeds or whatever vegitation is just floating down there

So about 7/10 times i throw my lure out i usually come back with a crap ton of weeds or just whatever is on the bottom of my pond in general. Any tips on how to fish without coming up with weeds all the time basically ? obviously cover is good for the fish but not fun for my lure presentation and or my sanity lol

The Googan Squad is pretty good though especially Jon B and Lunkers I don't like the guys that try to act like the Logan Paul of the youtube fishing community act all hyped and jump around and act way over the top. Or say random words that like has nothing to do with fishing but just "sounds cool"

i mean i guess but how do you explain my pond going from almost all pickerel and me rarely catching a bass to bass eventually becoming the main fish in the pond ? (still some pickerel but bass are everywhere now and i hardly ever catch a pickerel they are rare) not being combative i just want to know like how that happens. Like i have said in other threads tackle shop owners up here that i believe no longer work and are retired told me that large mouth are more aggressive obviously they probably aren't the experts they think they are but it just seems like they were right with how fast my pond changed from pickerel to bass ? i don't know much so i'm trying to learn as much as i can from this site also it's really not my pond or anyones it's just a random pond that i fish so i call it mine lol no ownership really

I've never used a leader before is it required to do a drop shot ? i can't tell in some of the videos i'm watching if they are using leaders or just the main line itself

Been checking out how to rig the drop shot ... a lot of people use braid and Flouro ... can i not use Mono for a drop shot :?

i have a few crawfish lures either through friends or bought through clearance I live in Massachusetts and i don't know of any body of water near me with crawfish so will these lures still ... Work i guess ?

Been told by 2 tackle shop owners in Mass they aren't there anymore i was 18 when they told me so like 7 years ago ? but that's what i was told by them .... i'm not saying they are 100% correct but i will say the pond i use to fish at was all pickerel when i was little then someone introduced LMB into the pond and boom very little pickerel anymore

Because LMB are 10x more aggressive so if LMB and pickerel are in the same water source and the LMB in the water can get a good population going they will just eat all the pickerel until all you are getting is dinky pickerel

well i hope you don't kill them ...

i usually go for between 50-80$ especially if it's a combo

Any suggestions on gear for someone that wants to night fish? like SPECIFIC brands for the gear and such lol

i guess it happens ? But I’ve never had a fish come back belly up i mean it’s a small pond i would probably find them if they did but again I’m not saying 100% I’m saying to my knowledge I haven’t i don’t believe someone could change my mind from feeling upset about it i believe i could be more educated on the affect someone taking bass or any fish out of my favorite pond has But I don’t think i would be 100% fine with it

i don't believe i have killed any fish or non that i remember i generally work with a fish until it is able to swim away under it's own power. but you can assume that i have and maybe i have ? but like i said i don't believe that i have and i don't recall killing any

whats wrong with ugly sticks :? it's my dads favorite brand and also the guys at Dicks told me it's a good rod ? (Not saying your wrong just want to get as much info as i can )

extremely ... bass left on their own will out duel pickerel ... way more aggressive

it's just not my thing is all i feel the same way about land animals too (cows pigs etc.) (not that a burger or hot dog isn't delicious more so i feel terrible about it) m
