Fly fishing
So I’m looking to get into fly fishing for bass. I found a rod But it has stainless steel guides. My concern is I know stainless steel guides grove, is that the same case with fly rods or are they different than traditional fishing rods? Here is the rod below https://www.fishusa.com/product/Shakespeare-Cedar-Canyon-Premier-Fly-Outfit?utm_source=google_ps&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google_ps&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt_bdhYWC3wIVD49pCh13bQh8EAQYASABEgJfNfD_BwE

Texas rig
I’m new to the whole Texas rig and was wondering if I can just fish it weightless. The places I fish arnt very deep anywhere from 2/3ft to 6ft. At what depth should I be using a weight? And what general weights should I get.

Rust
Thanks for the info also If I remove the rusty lures than there is no chance of spreading right?

Rust
So I had a weird dark orange liquid on my chaterbate hook that looked like rust but it was liquid and came right off when I wiped it. Should I be taking my soft baits off of my lures when I’m done fishing? Should I also wipe my lures dry after fishing or just let them air dry. I’ve been having some rust issues on other lures but I think it’s because I had them inside my tackle box. Also does dividers in tackle boxes prevent rust from spreading?

Hook keeper line
So I have a tiny bit of the wrap peeling off around my hook keeper, could I brush on a small amount of epoxy to prevent further peeling?

Grooves in ss guides with ss inserts
Has anyone else had issues with this particular rod. I had fishing line grooves in mine at the rod tip, don’t know if it was a defect. I fished it mainly in muddy areas and some sandy areas. I never used braid only 12lb mono. https://m.dickssportinggoods.com/p/lews-carbon-blue-gt-baitcasting-combo-17lewucrbnblgt6ftcom/17lewucrbnblgt6ftcom?lsft=camp:CSE_DSG_pg31352_mk_PLA_454&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI5qSgiM-l3gIVC18NCh2cyAEfEAkYASABEgJ9r_D_BwE

Lews Mach ll speed spin reel
No sand, only thing I can think of is water.

Lews Mach ll speed spin reel
My spinning reel has been making noises lately. Almost sounds like the bearings. It’s not a grinding sound or feeling more so just a sound. When I use heavier lures it seems to happen. Idk if this is normal with this reel.

Jig
Will this combination work or is the bait too big for the jig? 3/8 oz casting jig and 4 1/2'inch zoom z craw.

Baitcaster
I spooled my baitcaster with quite a bit of fishing line and noticed when I was casting and reeling in it feel rough not smooth like it usually is. So I took off some line and fixed it. Did I over spool it?

Is it ok to soak my spinnerbaits in white vinegar to get the rust off the hooks. Not inline spinners but spinnerbaits.

Carbon blue GT baitcast reel

Carbon blue GT baitcast reel
I’m confused a bit on which position means the magnets are free spool or max. There’s a little notch that shows which way it’s pointed. In the picture is the reel at free spool or is it the direction the arrows are facing? Also when I’m setting up a new bait am I suppose to have the magnets all the way down or up and than set the tension nob?

Wacky rig and braid
Can I use straight braid with a wacky rig. I fish mostly low visibility dark water with a lot of vegetation and some wood. I would be using 40lb braid. Water depths 3-6ft

Bent treble hooks on crankbait
I have some old treble hooks laying around they seem longer than the stock ones on the crank just by a bit though. I don’t have a clue what size the stock trebles are on the crank bait though. How far up in upsizing can I really go. It’s a squarebill lipped 1/4oz crankbait.
