I have recently gotten into crankbaits. I bought a cheap lunkerhunt crankbait $4.00. I've caught a number of fish on them but tonight I caught some big bass 5-6 pounders and now the hooks on the treble hook are bent outwards. Is this just cause the lures cheap? Would replacing the cheap treble hooks with some quality ones make a difference?

What is the best way to sharpen the hook, Sand paper?

The past couple times I've had a fish i've lost them when they jump out of the water. Is there anyway to prevent this?

So I caught about a 6-7 pound largemouth and was wondering how long they can be out of the water. I had him in a the water for a bit until I was ready to unhook him and take a few photos he was out of the water maybe 1-2 minutes and I released him and he did swim off. The weather was quite cool around 70ish degrees. I’m worried I kept him out too long.

I always close my bail manually and I don't cast that hard, but thanks for the info.

Yes a spinning rod I want to use it with a spinner bait. Not much vegetation maybe a bit. Would 20lb be a better option?

I’m going to start using braid for bass. I will be fishing in pretty mild cover water, logs and tree branches. Will 10lb be enough?

Spinning, 10lb mono Nope

So I have been bad line twist, line wrapping around the tip of my rod and line twisting up down by the reel. I’ve put the line on the correct way. I’m using a spinner bait when this happens. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

So I usually use cheap spinners but figure I would buy a little pricer one. First couple casts the thing ran fine than i started noticing the blades not spinning randomly. If I had it happen i would jerk the spinner and it would correct it. Any idea whats going on?

Can a small scuff/scratch mark on the outside of the guide cause issues?
