  1. Getting a good cadence on the mega dog is quite rewarding also.
  2. True that my man.
  3. Cutting down the weed guard will make it stiffer. Take a pair off pliers and pull a few out randomly around the weed guard to soften it. Do just a few at a time until you get what you want. But as said earlier jigs matched up properly with the rod should be just fine.
  4. Jeez, make sure you don’t show to much of it. Lol
  5. Most top waters are fun. Big Swimbaits are fun. I think spinnerbaits are fun.
  6. He sure did make it look easy, adding to the allure of the bait.
  7. There are lots of them in the 5”ish size. If that’s what your looking for.
  8. When I first started out I bought a couple decent setups to get started. Now I’m slowly upgrading as I realize what I like or would like to do. Do these more expensive upgrades increase my fishing skills, not one bit. Do they increase my overall enjoyment out on the water. To me they do. so let’s all be honest. You can literally catch a bass using just fishing line and a hook. Anybody holding any kind of rod in there hand has invested more then they need to, to catch fish.
  9. I bet, after just watching that video I’m excited for you. And thanks
  10. When you have a day where you loose a couple you’ll be glad you have 30. Wow, I just watched the video with the bounty fish. Where did you get them. please and thank you.
  11. The video sure was cool. This is the exact kind of thing that will haunt me as the off season sets in. I can’t skip at all, he sure made it look easy.
  12. Nope it’s me lol. I’ve been out on more then one occasion where my buddies where catching. One time on my friends boat we were using the same exact jackhammer and trailer. He caught 10. I lost one. Lol.
  13. Doesn’t matter what I use for a rod I can’t catch a bladed jig fish to save my life. I’ve tried the original chatter bait, freedom, jackhammer, thunder cricket. The foggy( skirted and unskirted). I have a severe curse with jackhammers. Shortly after I tie them on they end up at the bottom of the lake one way or the other. Since where talking rods lately it’s been the falcon head turner in the expert series. It should be great. Cast great, handles them great. Pops them through everything well. Just can’t comment on how it handles a bladed jig fish. In my dreams it’s fantastic. now I’m sad.
  14. Sure looks nice. I’ve also been guilty of spoiling myself a time or two.
  15. Always match.
  16. Rage swimmers are less then $4 at my Walmart. So I buy a couple every time I go there.
  17. I think you’ll be happier with the slx in the grass. Especially if your gonna throw some jigs.
  18. We have a few in a pond near me that look like upside down wheelbarrows swimming around. It’s rather impressive when they come up and breech the surface like a submarine.
  19. Title sums it up. I’m working on a job with a sweet little 3 acre backwater pond to a bigger pond /lake. This is absolutely black water also. It’s about 2 feet deep at the shore line. I seen my blades coming and picked them up just before the retaining wall. Big wake came out from under the dock right as I picked it up. Scared the crap out of me when he popped his head up about 5 feet away and looked at me. Boy am I glad I didn’t catch it. It’s amazing they can hunt in that black water. Cool story now, since it ended well.
  20. Before I broke it, I had a currado dc with 30 pound power pro. Would absolutely send a 3/8 spinnerbait.
  21. It’s a great 3/8-1/2 ounce spinnerbait rod.
