Starting Power, Ending Finesse - What about the converse?
I fish from the bank. So when I walk up to the spot I’m gonna fish. I start with pitching whatever finessier bait I’m using that day at the shoreline and whatever close cover I can see. I do that Before I run a spinnerbait or more aggressive bait through the immediate area. That helps to pick off any fish that are up tight to the shore line as opposed to possibly chasing them off.

Living rubber jigs from seiberts came in. Trying a few new colors also. Finally got my hands on some cut r worms. Nice stuff as always. With this order I should have enough jigs for a while.

What lure did you catch your biggest bass on in 2021 ?
3/8’s seiberts arky jig in green pumpkin purple. With a rage craw in moon juice. I caught probably 20+ bass with that one before I lost it. Was a bummer.

St Croix legend x 7 foot mh fast
It also might be the type of flouro your using. I don’t use it so I have no real experience with it, but I have read enough posts on here to gather that much anyway. Get some kvd line conditioners. That should help a bit and make sure you don’t have to much line on it. That also makes things a little more difficult. If you’re brand new to casting reels I would put 3 brakes on inside and put the outside dial somewhere in the middle. Tie on a 3/8’s weight and just go outside and practice. A couple of half hour sessions and you’ll be plenty good enough to have fun fishing. Also if the spool has fluffed up on you a few times already it might be a good idea to go somewhere and tie off the line to something and walk out a bunch of line and reel it back up tight.

Jig/Trailer Combos and how they look in the water
Great info everyone. I can’t pass up this opportunity to show a pic of the craws I picked up at the show this past weekend. I just couldn’t walk past them. I think I can catch atleast one fish this season on the big one.

What jig is this?
I like it, seem to have a thing for jigs lately

Looking for a new smallmouth setup?
The bps carbonlite 2,0 6’6” medium casting rod will throw all those baits just fine. It’s just soft enough to fish trebles decent enough and plenty fast and sensitive enough for single hook applications. It’s 1/4-5/8’s. But you can go a little over and under just fine. Leaves plenty of change for a nice real.

Anyone make it to the NE EXPO TODAY.
I was going to go today but decided to wait till tomorrow because of the storm. Just curious if anyone seen anything new and exciting. I’m looking forward to the bull Shad booth myself.

My first cast with BFS was surprisingly disappointing. Haha.

I highly doubt there will be any old ones to go on sale, since they are always sold out everywhere.

Shore Lunch
When I was a kid we used to camp up in the white mountains in NH. Right next to our campsite there were several brooks and streams. We would catch native brook trout out of the pools. We would wrap them in tinfoil and cook them on a rock next to the fire. Also in a cast iron pan with that morning’s bacon grease. They where so tasty. Really bringing back memories. Everything was cooked on a grate over the open fire. Good times. you’re not allowed to camp there anymore. As usual few ruin it for many. It’s a shame. great thread.

How many rod brands do you use?
I have bps brands, 2 different dobyns lines 2 different lines of falcon rods and a shimano rod. I’ve only been fishing somewhat seriously for a few years. Still working out what types of rods fit my somewhat developing style of fishing. So far I like everything I’ve got to try. So I guess that’s 4 different brands.
