  1. I picked up some 90’s and some 130’s. They didn’t have the 110’s. What size hooks you using. I tried a5/0 on the 130 yesterday. It layed over sideways. I think it’s too much hook on one side. Gonna try a 4/0 next time. Ended up getting one. Cool bait should be great for some ponds i fish. Can’t wait to grab some of the 110’s should be the perfect size. thanks in advance.
  2. Great info man. How do you like the finesse jig rod.
  3. Yup, great site. A lot of great members and info.
  4. No I haven’t. You should check out falcons you tube channel. They have allot of videos on different techniques and the rods their pro staff uses for them. Also you can give them a call. Their techs are great to talk to. They are fishermen also. Their advice has been spot on for me the two times I’ve talked to them, and they don’t mind chatting.
  5. I’m going Cara again because it’s a bottom contact rod I’m looking for. If I was looking for moving baits I might go expert.
  6. One is a mh mod fast and the other is a heavy fast. So it’s not really a apples to apples comparison.
  7. I have the expert head turner, and the Cara eye crosser. I like them both a lot. They just feel good in my hand. Dragging a jig with the eye crosser (6’11” heavy, but not to heavy) you can practically count grains of sand. Also throws good size paddle tails, magdraft free style and things of that nature really well.
  8. Cool, I bought my first falcon the spring before last. I’m days from getting my third. Pretty sure I’m gonna get the finesse jig.
  9. Sorry for your loss
  10. Very sharp looking
  11. If I were in you’re shoes right now I would get a 6’6” medium fast casting rod. From shore you can fish all kinds of weightless and lightly writes plastics. Along with some smaller top water plugs, small spinnerbaits and things like that. As long as the cover is not to heavy where you fish. That length will still let you get decent distance, and not be to cumbersome if you fish around trees and bushes. Good luck and have fun.
  12. The x zone 6” fat finesse worm is great on a 1/8-3/16 t rig or weightless. Lots of good colors to choose from.
  13. Great info man. Thanks for writing all that.
  14. Sunfish eat anything moving that will fit in their mouth. Watch for fertilizer or other chemicals though.
  15. Give falcon a call. One of the techs will give you a couple good suggestions if you tell them what you want to do. Their pleasant to talk to over there.
  16. I don’t know the exact science either. I throw ten pound braid on a 5 foot ultra lite rod and stick 1/0 light wire round bend worm hooks right through the roof and sides of their mouth. Then hold on for some drag ripping fun. It’s open water so you can still get them right in, but what a exhilarating 30 seconds.
  17. When I’m feeling real gung ho I’ll bring 4. Most of the time 2or 3. Sometimes 1. Sometimes I complain I brought to much, other times not enough. The bank fishing struggle is real. Lol.
  18. All mine are the half on half off. Never touch them. All six of my shimano reels for that matter.
  19. Mine has also been problem free. Put it on number two for braid, then a little spool tension. That was three years ago, no problems since.
  20. I have two k’s, a dc and a 150 mgl. The k is a nice work horse reel, for your jig rod or other heavier applications. Although it will throw down to a 3-0 hook and a weightless rage craw. Now with the 150 mgl out, it will do all that and handle lighter baits much better. The DC really shines on a moving bait rod. Mine found it’s home on my spinner bait, swim jig, buzz baits and things of that nature ( less aerodynamic stuff). It will bomb cranks 3/8’s and up also. It’s great for that but I don’t see the need to buy another one. The mgl will be what I put on any new rods for the time being. Good luck, and whatever you pick will be fine really.
  21. Never heard of either of those but they are pretty sweet. What are your plans for it?
  22. For $250 you can get the falcon Cara head turner. Or the expert head turner would save you $50 and be a touch softer.

I’m interested for the exact same reasons you just mentioned. Sounds like fun, and I like fun…………and getting new gear.
