Anyone else a car enthusiast here on the forum? I grew up around muscle cars my father had them and same with my uncles such as Mustangs, Belairs and Roadrunners. My father built most of his 1955 Chevrolet Belair 2dr hardtops. His last custom built car was a 1955 Chevrolet 2dr hardtop customized for the street and never was raced on the racing strip. One day my father wasn't feeling too good so he laid down for couple of hours to rest he told me to take him to the Hospital and found out from the cath lab doctor my father needed emergency heart surgery stat/fast but the heart surgeon and her team couldn't get to my father that day so they admitted him for early morning surgery. The cardiac heart surgeon told my father few days later he would need to sale off all the stuff that caused him stress and etc. So my father thought hard about it and sold the car to a lady out in California for her and her husband wedding anniversary. I like watching the car shows such as Jay Leno's Garage, Chasing Classic Car and etc. My father and I always talked about purchasing one when we can find the right one that he likes and would love to drive we checked the car shows, auctions and eBay. We found a guy that won his and his wife's 1955 Chevrolet Belair fully custom from a car show raffle ticket but the guy won't sale it. What is your favorite car of any type? - Jamie

Last week I bought my first Abu Garcia Revo X rev 2/30 combo reel and rod. I noticed that the reel bail won't close after I manually open it before I casted the line in to the water when I go to close it wouldn't close at all so I closed the bail I tried few more tries it never closed. So I took them both back to Academy Sports where I bought the rod and reel from spoke with the store manager claiming he knew everything about fishing he didn't know what I was talking about so he tried it he claimed it was supposed to be manually closed instead of automatically closed. So the guy walked away with the fishing rod and reel and claimed he was going to speak with his bass pro representative on site he came back and he claimed it's a manual only closing for the bell and not automatic. He did show a little attitude showing the manager tone to him what he spoke when I asked him to please call Abu Garcia and see what they say he told me he didn't have to do anything. So I left the store with the rod and reel I called Abu Garcia customer service they claim its a automatic closing reel they told me what I could do is either take it back and tell them what the issue is/defective reel and give me a refund or switch it out for a new one. I told the representative for Abu Garcia what the manager said and told me he was like he'll make sure he'll let the area person for them know about it and have it fix. I called another Academy Sports and spoke with a very nice gentleman I took the rod and reel in and let him see what he can see or fix hopefully he told me they should have never sold you a defective item. He even agree it's supposed to be a automatic reel closing so he tested out the rod and reels for the Abu Garcia Revo X 2/30 he had in stock and he found that was working the right way and he swamped it out for the one I had for his that was new and working order. Has anyone had this issue before with the Abu Garcia Revo x 2/30 reel and rod combo? - Jamie

Sorry for my late reply. I went to my local Bass Pro Shops this afternoon and spent couple of hours talking to the guys who was working the Fishing area. They gave me ideas on what to try out for bait wise such as the Livingston Lures Primetyme CB 2.0 crankbait, STW S-Crank 1.2 crankbait, KVD Watermelon Ocho's 5" and Gamakatsu 4/0 EWG Offset Worm Hooks and some fishing lakes to try. The guys at Bass Pro Shops were nice and friendly and went out of there way to answer all my questions my father and I asked them. They showed us around the fishing rods, reels, fishing gear, bait and etc. I am happy with my purchase at Bass Pro Shops - Macon, Georgia.

This week I plan on visiting my local Bass Pro Shops to do some shopping for lures but I do not know what to purchase so far I have the Salty Super Fluke and the Ribbit Frog in watermelon color. We are new to the Georgia fishing lakes not sure what fish bites what so I am asking everyone here. I tried the Super Fluke few times last week and this early morning when I took my father to Lake Blackshear and fished off the dock since we do not own a boat. Thank you for your time. - Jamie

I went fishing with my father this morning at Black Shear in Cordele, Georgia bought worms and crickets and seemed like only bream was biting the worms but not crickets let alone anything else that didn't bite but the turtle by the dock/entrance area to the park was eating the bait as well. We saw a lot of fish jump and moving around in front of us. The breeze around 6:30am in the morning was quite nice before the sun/heat came in to play. The dock needs to be fixed especially missing one half of a board in the middle of it. The restrooms close to the bridge and the boat ramp are a total mess for instance...bugs, dirt and looked like the restrooms haven't been cleaned in months that's how bad it was. I tried fishing with the Zoom Salty Super Fluke all over the dock and nothing was biting such as bass or anything bigger than the bream. Not sure what else to purchase to try out to see if my luck improves on catching bass. I do have the Stanley Jigs Bull Ribbit Frog in watermelon color that I could try.

My father fishes with nightcrawlers and does okay with them but nothing big. He fishes for anything that would bite/hit a nightcrawler. He buys his Nightcrawlers from the baitshop before he does he ask the owner of the baitshop what kind of worm they are selling and what is the best. Surprising he was told couple of times to stay away from the Canadian Nightcrawler for some unknown reason they claim fish don't like them.

Been a few times to a lake called Flat Creek PFA in Perry, Georgia over by the fishing dock area you'll see blue and green oil looking stuff (probably not oil but looks like it). Bunch of wasp flying around by the fishing dock and the trees and the restrooms are nasty and filthy.

My father 22 1/2 years of service in the Marines. He retired as a E-8 Master Sergeant from a 0311 ground pounder "Infantry" then finished his career in supply. I did 10 years in Security.

I was wondering what all I need to do to fish with this super fluke? I just started fishing with this fluke as of this morning I was told is to jerk my line a little bit everytime it hits the water and pulling it back in. My rod and reel is a Abu Garcia Revo X combo and the fishing line is Spiderwire 10lb line.

Hey Everyone, What are some lakes for my father and I to go to? We do not own a boat which I know it sucks. We've been to the Flat Creek in Perry, Georgia and the Park in Cordele, Georgia got some small bream fish but no keepers. We fish for anything that bites my father uses worms and crickets for myself I use artificial stuff as a month ago trying something new.
