  1. My go to for moving water Smallmouth is a Rebel Wee, or Teeny Wee Crawfish. They will work all year round, and different versions can dive really shallow, or as deep as necessary in a river or creek. they are versatile, catch more than just smallmouth, are pretty cheap, plus they work.

Maybe buy a couple half ouncers just in case you need them. It won't hurt
  8. I have wondered about this for a while. obviously, it takes a while to retie lures, and since i bank fish with 1-2 rods, it soundls like a good idea to use snaps, but i'm afraid it will mess up the action of my crankbaits, jerkbaits, and topwaters. what should i do?
  9. a jerkbait, a jerkbait, and um.... a jerbait
  10. That seems like a pretty smart formula, and simple too.
  11. i guess this is more like it:
  12. I know chatterbaits are legendary, some people say color dosen't matter. Others claim white, or some version of white is the best. Still others green pumpkin, black and blue, bluegill, etc. i just want to hear your thoughts on chatterbait colors for farm ponds without shad.
  13. My parents are getting annoyed with taking me to Cabela's twice a week to empty my bank count. feeling the heat, but that bait monkey induced me to try chatter-baits, and add to the jerk bait collection this week.
  14. is the jackhammer worth the hefty price tag?
  15. what about in farm ponds with no shad?
  16. now the real question is which colors?
  17. I received high percentage fishing for Christmas, and read it in its entirety within a couple hours of getting it. very helpful, recommend it because overloading on information you will never remember is the best!
  18. well, i better drop a hundred bucks and stock up then.
  19. thanks bait monkey, always appreciate you telling me what i want to hear!
  20. man these sound like pretty good baits. i haven't yet tried them. it sounds like i should, but its just one more lure in my box that i have to learn how to use. Is it it really worth it, or can a normal jig catch the same bass?
  21. really, what it comes down to is how much money you have on hand. Use common sense, a more expensive item will be nearly always superior in some way. i love American made equipment but my checking account doesn't. unfortunately, my checking account wins. find the best rod you can get with your budget, and stop worrying about it. if you have faith in a certain company, then go with that company. all i'm trying to say is be confident. doubt is a fisherman's worst enemy.
  22. i will use jerkbaits as searchbaits, and wacky riged senkos once i find some bass. but you really cant go wrong with just jerkbaits. jigs arent bad either.
