Rookie having problems with his airbrush
Ive been shooting between 30 and 40 psi and air is flowing through it freely. It was shooting water and only did a little bit of spitting. I was getting a good stream of water coming out. Ive sprayed paintthinner through as well and that wasnt having a problem either. If i pull the lever back and let the air flow nothing will happen. But the second i let the lever slide back forward a little bit it spits out some paint then stops again.

Rookie having problems with his airbrush
the needle doesnt really feel like its sticking. Ive tried black and white and a few others with no success. It has a .3mm tip. I shot all the same colors the first day i used it with no problem though. Ill go see what i can find for wire and clean the tip out.

Rookie having problems with his airbrush
Alright i have an airbrush city gd102 and took it out of the case to use it yesterday and it worked wonderfully. I cleaned it up real well when i was done. When i went out to use it today it wouldnt hardly spray the paint at all. I broke the whole thing down went through it all cleaned as much as i could and re assembled it correctly. The same thing happened. The only time i could get any paint to come out is when i moved the needle back and forth. So i tore it all down again and cleaned everything again and assembled it again and still the same thing happened......im new to this but getting frustrated already! lol. Right now its all in pieces again i took all the o rings out and the brush is sitting in the sink soaking over night.. Has anybody got any other ideas of what else i could do? Im using Createx airbrush paints so i dont think thinning the paint is an issue? but maybe it is? I dont think so because the airbrush worked fine the first time i used it. This stuff is cool and im trying not to get frustrated but when the equipment wont work its hard not to lol. Atleast my paashe is still working fine but its a syphon feed. And hard to do fine lines with. Any help is awesome!!

Top Coating Plastic Cranks
lol no problem big m i was playing around with the brush yesterday and turned out a desent blue gill for me first time ever using an airbrush. Ill have to finish it up and post a pic. Thanks for your replies guys ill run to walmart soon and see what i can find for Rustoleum laquer, or miniwax polyurathane. I thought about thinned out devcon but it sounded like a complicated process. And i had heard that dick nites had turned some guys lures to different colors once the put it on.

Cranks in stained water
Edwin Evers said at a seminar i was at a couple years ago. Think about sitting in your house in the dark and somebody comes and knocks on the window that it would spook you. That is what a rattle would be like to a bass sitting in really muddy water. Im not sure what to think honestly. To me i could see going into an area thats muddy and using a rattle and catching the active fish. But i would wonder if you went into the same area with no rattle and see if you can catch the most active and some of the less active fish as well. I guess it comes down to what you have confidence in throwing in any given situation.

Top Coating Plastic Cranks
Ok I just got a paashe syphon feed and airbrush city gravity feed airbrushes as gifts for christmas. I also got some unpainted plastic crankbait bodies from janns netcraft. Now i have looked all over the net and found 100 different answers to this question so Im gonna look for the best one to keep cranks looking good for awhile. What do you use to topcoat a plastic crank? I use devcon 2 ton on everything else but have seen people such as BIGM say it will ruin a plastic baits action...What else can i use? will krylon clear coat work? Thanks for any information guys.

Chasing Monsters
Did anybody catch that show on History Channel last night that was looking at giant fish attacks in fresh water. I know this is a tacklemaking thread so ill make it about it. I just wanted to see if anybody saw them make that 24 inch rapala with a camera so they could go find a lake trout? It was cool the dude had a CNC machine and put a block of wood in it and programed it to what he wanted and created this giant plug to run behind a down rigger. Was a pretty cool deal. Hopefully someone besides just me saw it lol.

Creating a pattern for carving cranks?
Hey was wondering what you crankbait carvers use to make a pattern for the profile of the bait before you carve. Ive been out all morning messing around with scrap wood and a band saw just trying to get a pattern to look right from the side before i start rounding the bait. think im gonna play with AutoCAD some..

med depth divers
i think that would look cool if you did a black back and then transparent green over the top of it. I would think that would give kind of a dark green back would look cool. Do you put much into your paint jobs on deep diving cranks? you always hear how the colors look like black and white once you get to 20 feet. Always helps for catching the fisherman though lol.

Crankbait Construction question
are they more difficult to tune because of how they are built? If its not put in an exact way will it always run a certain way no matter how you tune it.

Good jigs for beginers.
The hardest thing i had to get use to when i started to fish jigs was determining what your hitting. I had to learn the feel to tell between smacking a rock or a stump and when a fish hits. Once i got that down ive done alright on a jig.

balsa baits

Im working on getting all the gear together to start playing with cranks, ive played with the jigs enough for awhile lol

Large Swim Baits for the Midwest
Ive fished Bull Shoals quite a bit myself and never done fantastic down there. Its a hard lake to fish but they always tell me im there during the wrong time of the year lol. When im there the fish are all suspended and live bait is the only thing anybody is getting hits on. Swimbait is definitly one word ive never heard anybody say down there though. Maybe they are worth a try.

balsa baits
Hey BIGM you might have said this before but how do you get your eyes on the baits to look like that? Are they just decals? or do you paint them? Ive always used the head of a nail to do eyes but of course they dont turn out the same every time.

2008 lures
I honestly didnt see to many lures in there that got me to interested. a few that looks like gimiks. The only thing that caught me eye was that lucky craft crank with real fish skin. And not that im interested in buying one but just wondering if it increases catch numbers at all.

2008 lures
In my last bassmaster they had something in there about a crank that lucky craft is coming out that is covered in real fish skin. I guess they use squid skin as the outside cover and paint over it. Sounded cool interested to see if it can out fish a normal plastic or wood crank. The idea behind it is it will gradually release scent while you fish it. I honestly dont think it will make a huge change.

Dremmel Bits
Alright im finally ready to mess with one of my molds and have heard everybody say that they like the dremmel tools. What kind of bits do you typically use? Ive only ever used a dremmel on wood projects and not on metal.
