Crazy sounds like half the field if not more had their 5 fish limit within a half hour of takeoff.

Crankbaits, Bought an Okuma Crankbait rod and filled a box full of bandit 100 200 and 300 and dont care if they are all gone by end of year just wanna know how to catch fish with em before the year is over.

Good to see they got some folks on here. I use to have a lot of fun fishing the wednesday night series. I have been out of the loop for awhile and am trying to get back in and fish a few of the wednesday nighters this year. I was going to fish their big open tournament they had at the end of march but my trolling motor burned up the week before and the new one didnt arrive till after that weekend. So i'll probably shoot for the next open tournament.

Depending exactly where you are in Illinois i know clubs are gearing up for their summer tournaments right now. The main one that comes to mind is the Happy Hookers Bass Club that has several big tournaments through the year all over the state and during the summer they run a wednesday night weekly tournament out of the conservation area on the Kankakee river. Watching the action from Bull Shoals so far this morning sounds like its unfortunatly gonna be a dink fest but keeper dinks atleast. I have been waiting for this tournament since they announced it. Bull Shoals is a lake near and dear to me with several family vacations down there through the years. So many that my grandparents bought a house down there so that the whole family has some where to go when we wanna go down for long weeks or weekends. Just wish I could be down there to watch in person how the pros pull that lake apart. Its a fun lake but it has driven me nuts as far as fishing goes since ive been going down there. Never really had much luck in figuring it out mosty catching catfish and bluegil.I know their are some huge striper and walleye swimming in there as well.

I fished one with the BFL as a co angler and really enjoyed it. I think it would be more fun as a co angler in the BFL cause the boaters at the Opens are just thinking about winning and getting that trip to the classic for the most part or paying the bills.. FLW or BFL for that matter your all just there to finish and try to score a check not many people maybe a couple are worried about fishing to pay the bills in that series..

I know of someone who did this in the flw table rock tournament. If your good enough and quick enough with the net go for it. Kinda like Ike a few years back jumping out of the boat but keeping one arm on deck to grab his broken line that was still floating on the surface with a fish on the other end. Get it in the boat.

Yeah the hard part is learning to just fish and not worry about it being a tournament or what time it is. Let the boater worry about that stuff cause if he wants to be late hes gonna drag you down with him its the name of the game as the co angler. Just go out and relax and fish what he gives ya and dont worry about what you dont have. just worry about what you got.

Ask Luke Clausen which one is better Na i got a buddy that's out with the FLW this year and after hearing something about the way that series runs I would say that its about an even draw. Bass just has more exposure with everyone so we know their guys a whole lot better than we know the FLW guys. Ill admit i dont make as much of an effort to catch the FLW show every sunday but I will to catch the Elite tournament.

My buddy was down there and told me about the kid that showed up with a Nitro z7 with a 150 to fish his first pro tournament. No sponsors nothing and has been doing very well and made the cut for sunday. Can't remember his name but I hope he is able to pull it out and put a point on the board for the independents out there.

I guess I should add that I had an experienced Merc tech look at the motor first and tell me it was just a bad unit and told me it would be expensive to replace and just unhooked it and told me what to watch. I didnt take the leeroy route and just start cutting wires.

Bandit 200 and 300 work well for me.

I fished the BFL event up in LaCrosse when i was a senior in high school so about 7 years ago. I had no experience at the time backing up a trailer. The boater asked me if I had backed one up before I told him no and he said well we wont teach ya today. I held on to the rope and the boat for him while he parked the truck and then we hopped in and went on our way. No big deal really.Just make it clear to them that you are not comfortable dunking the boat for him.

Mine started doing that and I just disconnected it cause it was like 400 bucks for a new unit to be installed. As long as the water is pumping out the back I'm a happy guy.

had a heavy jig head come loose from a tree I was snagged on and smoke me in the balls. Luckily the hook missed but that didnt keep me from laying in the bottom of the boat for a minute and almost caused my buddy to fall overboard mostly from him laughing and me trying to throw him overboard but o well lol.

I have had a bag of them for ever and they just sit there. Ill get brave one day and go out and play with them lol.

Beware of the addiction. I started making jigs awhile back and got out of it as my fishing time became thing but now that its coming back so is my interest in jig making. Spent this winter and built my whole sauger box starting with 3 boxes of hooks and an empty plano. Then started working on my bass jigs........and now my first order of plasticol and colors came in last week. I havent bought any molds yet but Ive been buying Bondo Resin like crazy to make my own molds LOL. Spent most of saturday this week building some new skirts for the bass jigs I made earlier...yesterday I spent coiling wire and making some senko rigs like Kieth Poche was fishing a the classic just cause I wanted to try one. my next thing is looking at some rod building equipment.......it will just snowball but its fun as can be and rewarding when your hauling in fish 2:to 1 on your buddy who is fishing with his favorite store bought lure.

Zona said Poche was swimming this rig as well through grass instead of letting it just fall like some folks normally fish a sinko

Seemed like every other pro at the classic was in a skeeter. The Southern Open that Lane won earlier this year there also seemed to be alot of skeeters.

If your looking for DVD's I have a collection mostly for watching in the winter or when there just arent any fishing shows on. I really like the older In-fisherman videos when Al, Jim, Dan were still there. I also like their newer Angling Edge DVD's as well. Another one I just picked up is Ike's Finesse Fishing DVD. It's very indepth on alot of techniques like drop shot and tubes and such and he goes in and shows you exactly how to tie em and how to rig the bait. Im hoping he comes out with some more DVD's the guy is great for teaching. Those are just some of my favorites. Ill look through youtube as well and find some videos that Ike did for another site that are good and BassResource's are always good to watch as well.

Like said before fish tight to cover. Even cast onto the shore and drag your bait back into the water. Sometimes they will have their noses shoved right up against the bank.

I still run a couple of 40 dollar quantums that I bought at walmart back in like 04/05. They have been tanks for me, still cast like a dream and work great. I use them mostly for flipping so I dont know if that has anything to do with them still working so good or not.

Custom Excel sheet or build the software yourself is about it that I know of. Excel is available for phones anymore so that helps to maek it portable.

If your name was Chris Lane it wasn't to boring lol. Na seriously though I enjoyed watching the war room coverage more than the TV coverage. Stuff was actually in the middle of happening in the war room. The TV coverage is all just a quick recap of what happened on the water.
