  1. I like fishing night crawlers in the summer here on the river. Those days when you just want action and dont care what ya catch. Works awesome for finding the bass holes and then finding a few of the catfish holes laying down there as well. I usually fish the crawler on a drop shot with the big tail hanging off and let the current and the cralwer do its thing.
  2. Best one i ever heard and still makes me laugh. Guy grabbed his buddies baitcaster while he was sleeping and cut a big length of line off with a buzzbait tied on still then ran the length onto the spool over the main line. When his buddy went to toss out his first cast of the day he sent his buzzbait clear into the woods lol.
  3. i love seeing peoples faces when i tell em i got a camo ranger. They all picture a big glass rig painted camo
  4. Lol I know Slone probably for a second or 3rd time too lol
  5. I put this everywhere else i figured i'd show it here too. I just picked up my new ranger boat last week. As you can see its definitely a multi species rig, not just with fins, wings too LOL Has a Merc 115 pro xs. Havent got it on the water yet but soon as the ice pack moves off the river I'll have it out for a ride. Mounted up a new 998 SI unit at the wheel and I have an elite 7 for the front. Terrova iPilot is mounted on in this picture but I am installing the universal quick change bracket so I can change between the terrova and cable steer easily.
  6. Yeah they said that Do-It went to him and asked about a licensed mold and he jumped right on it. Only stipulation was that it has to have Do-It stamped on every worm so that folks cant sell them as senkos.
  7. Gary licensed a mold with do it for the senko. so he must be confident nobody will figure out exactly what he does lol
  8. Definitely would have to be electric only and john boat lake.
  9. You know what they say about fish that size. They are that size for a reason they aint no dummies lol
  10. North of the Chipawa falls flowage i see an underwater point that I would definitly run over with a fish finder and maybe use a couple transmission baits to feel it out and see if anything is there.
  11. Couldn't walk to my truck without a brain freeze they can have it lol
  12. I've seen some good pike fights through the ice.
  13. I just bought a ranger aluminum and cant wait to get it out on the water. I went with the 115 pro xs and the camo no carpet option.
  14. The one experience that I've had that sticks out is I was fishing the Illinois River a few summers ago and was back in this little pay fishing with a buzz bait. I saw a log that was pointing to my direction so I could make a cast to shore and run the buzzbait right down the length of it. I ran it once without getting bit and thought if something is there I just stirred him up so I cast again same spot and ran it the same place and halfway down the log a 2.5 pound bass exploded on my buzzbait and I got him into the boat. The next morning I was again back out on the water and went back in there again and went to that same log just to see if he was still there sure enough first cast he exploded on my buzzbait again. I truely beleive they setup a homebase somewhere and only move when the conditions are making them uncomfortable or its time to breed.
  15. Glad to see this thread back at the top. Always enjoy reading through it and pick something new I missed before in it.
  16. Just gotta pay attention to your environment. If fish your catching are spitting up bait look and see what it is will give you an idea on color and size and species. I agree its not always the most important part of catching fish. Just all depends on the environment and if the fish got the feed bag on or they are being skiddish.
  17. Buy luckycraft you get what you pay for most of the time with them.
  18. lol that article is how i first found this website.
  19. change color when you no longer have confidence in it plain and simple. I agree with these guys its a very small part of the equation and other factors come first but if its hurting your confidence in the bait then change the color.
  20. Tackle making. been pouring and painting jigs like crazy the last couple months. Just ordered my first injector and grub mold from del-mart so that should be interesting. This season I have my new boat that I'm bringing home this week and gonna get that rigged out. The sauger should start running here in late january beginning of february and the season will be on!
  21. Ducks and geese are a sign of life somewhere. Not the same species obviously but they show you that life wants to be in a spot. Usually find some fish near by. Its when I dont see anything like that around that I start to get worried.
  22. painted baits are just fun to make. i dont see a whole lot of advantage. unless there is a forage in your area that nobody makes and you really wanna match the hatch. but most of the baits i see painted are 90% to get the fisherman to drool over and 10% to catch fish.
  23. well 100 bucks later this afternoon and i got a new poison tail jig mold coming 3 new powder paint colors and enough hooks and eyes to make a 100 of the poison tails lol I'm chalking that one to bass resource too lol
  24. All of my jig and sinker molds, powder paints, airbrush. My folks never did find their rotisserie motor cause I had to running my lure dryer lol. The tackle making forum brought me to this page a long time ago and the rest of the boards are what kept me coming back. I slack off from time to time in posting her but always seem to come back.
