  1. That is a beauty. Can wait to hear the details
  2. Was it punch cards or electronic voting? Hopefully there wont be any hanging chad's , butterfly ballets, or voter intent confusion.
  3. Buy a gas siphon hose. Trust me, you dont want to be burping gas fumes.
  4. I had about 7 gallons of old gas. I gave it to a lawn service crew that was working in our neighborhood. It was still usable for weedeaters, etc. The guy was very happy because the price of fuel was really cutting into his margin.
  5. How about probably instead of probably. That one annoys me fer sure.
  6. I pulled a fibraglass 17 ft formula/ 140 evinrude with a 1979 mustang GT for several years. It was not ideal, but it got me to the water. The tongue weight is a very important consideration when using a small car. To much weight on the rear suspension will ruin the shocks and handling. If the trailer is properly balanced, and the car is in good working order, the Malibu pulling the 16ft aluminum boat should be OK.
  7. Bassin, that is a nice tracker you have there.
  8. I think the guy called them the "perfect jig". He said he was dropping them in the holes in the weeds along the canal. A beetle spin or a 2" gold/black floating rapala would probably work too on the edges. I have a new d90 SLR camera on order. Once I get it, the point and shoot kodak will be in the tackle box for good.
  9. you will be ok as long as the ramp is paved
  10. One of my favorite scenes is where the Zombie walks up a step ladder under the spinning heliocopter blades...LMAO
  11. Went out to Loxahatchee for 3 hours this morning. I forgot the camera today, I wanted to take pictures of the area to post. I will do it next trip. It was a beautiful morning. Alot of boats out today. Temps 70-82 degrees, with blue skies. I tried the east canal first without any success using shad rap crankbaits and 10" black/blue worms. Nothing happening there. I moved back to the sawgrass flats across from the boat ramps...I found a spot the last time I went there. This time I saw quite a few bass beds there. I ended up catching two 4 lb'ers and 10 or so dinks. One of the 4's was caught over a bed that I was sight fishing, the other on a shady side of the bullrushes. Both were caught on Gtail wat/red worms. I am going to try to get out again on monday, and pitch some frogs and creatures over those beds. There were a couple of bigguns there that didnt bite. A guy at the ramp told me that the speckled perch bite was hot right now. I forgot the name of the jig he was using.

I am looking at buying the Nikon D90 SLR camera. It is pretty sweet, it has HiDef movie recording and I am getiing a great deal. Anyone have any opinions about this camera, or other cameras brands like Canon?
  13. I know what you are talking about. I coached middle school kids for the local YMCA basketball program. Our team had a couple of decent players and some beginner and out of shape kids. The program was supposed to be about having fun and good sportmanship, and it was for the kids despite the idiot refs and coaches. There were a couple of other parents who volenteered that quit , and pulled their kids out, after they saw the way the games were being called and the coaches dirty tactics and never substituting. I stuck with my kids and we beat the number 1 team in a huge upset, it was great and my kids really came ready to kick butt.
  14. The chili peppers are OK. Being a borderline old fart, I still try to keep an open mind, but it is difficult nowadays to accept and enjoy new music. I have played and performed in a jazz band and symphony, and I have met some of the famous jazz artists. That experience makes you appreciate different types and skills, even if you dont really enjoy them. My favorite music with all that being said is 50-60 rock and 50-60 R&B.There is something about the innocense and purity of some of the music. The hard rock and ballads of the late 60, 70-80 come a close second. The modern country music, and some country oldies are great too. Big bands and jazz have their time and place. Rap doesnt classify as music as far as i am concerned.

  16. What do you guys put on your ribs and chicken when you're grilling? Dry rub, store bought sauce or marinade, homemade sauce. I want to try someting different than "sweet baby rays" sauce.
  17. I have fished with a couple of south florida members and it was a good time. I have not fished in over 4 weeks, so I am ready to hitch up the boat and dust off the poles.

I caught this 5.9 lb largemouth bass at the Loxahatchee refuge using a wat / red trickworm. I was fishing in the flats acroos from the boat ramps. Soon as I can get out on the right side of the weekly cold fronts, Im going to go get another one.
  19. I want to try to net some shrimp in the inlet from my boat. I will go on a weekday so there is minimum traffic. What is the best time/tide to do this and what equipment will I need. Many years ago, my friends and I used to net them from shore using coleman lanterns over the water at night. Is there a better, safer way to do it from a boat?
  20. On the lower unit of the outboard housing, right at the waterline, my 150 merc motor has developed white stains that I cant remove. I looks like algae, but it isnt. Have any other merc owners had this happen and any advice for cleaners, etc?
  21. Congrats to you and your wife on the birth of your son. I have a 15 month old daughter and it is definately a great feeling being a dad.
  22. Edwards was a terrible head coach. This nothing to do with race. He left the Jets in disarray, and the next year Mangina posted a winning record. I predict whoever (Shanahan?) takes over, KC will have a good year on 2009. Herm should coach college, NFL position coach, or retire. I hope to god his mug doesnt end up on the NFL network.
  23. I think about taking my boat out too. She rides low in the water though. It would have to be a perfect day. Light west wind. Speaking about the Boyton Inlet, as a teen we used to jump off that bridge, and the one at Boca inlet. Crazy teenager stuff. Im suprised we didnt get hurt. We would snorkel along the jetties as well at high tide. It was pretty cool. The current is so strong under the bridge, and the channel so narrow, you probably need full throttle just to pass through against the tide, let alone try to swim against it. Hillsboro inlet is pretty tame, just watch out for the reefs and sandbars. When you pass the end of the jetties, you must stear east right away or you will run aground. Follow the channel markers.
  24. Snook, small snapper, shrimp
  25. "Right now is the doldrums of winter and not a lot of action going on." If you go drift fishing, or have a boat, the cobia, big grouper / snapper bite is usually good at the deeper reefs this time of year if the ocean is right.. When I go drift fishing, I bring my portable GPS to get the coordinates of the grouper spots. There is one due east of Hillsboro inlet that is outstanding. The only problem with catching the groupers deep is that sharks usually get them first. It is like pulling up an engine block. Then gone. I have lost count at the number of grouper heads I have reeled in.
