  3. Good Information RW, after all these years, I never knew.
  4. Also noticed that the Revo SC is no longer listed? >
  5. Stick with the XT or Big Game.
  6. Thanks Tyrius, pictures are great.
  7. Yes graphite. Many years ago I had the GT2000, which I believe was all graphite, and under a load the gears would just lock up. Now those were not inexpensive reels in the '80's, but I have stayed away from Graphite (plastic) reels ever since.
  8. Its not just the palming side plate, but also the cranking side plate. I believe that the cranking side is important.
  9. RW that does not answer the question. Still want to know why Shimano is the only manufacturer that can get away with that much plastic.
  10. Can somebody tell why when Shimano comes out with a plastic reel, everyone falls all over them self proclaiming how wonderful it is. If any other manufacturer made reels with as much plastic as the new E Curado people would call them cheap. Now before the Shimano posse comes after me, I currently own a number of Shimano reels that have aluminum side plates (Curado D and the Cronarch .
  11. 4600C5 Mag, but any one can be converted to a C5 by changing the level wind.
  12. The two things that breakdown mono, that I know of, is sunlight (UV) and heat. I wish somebody from the line mfg. would give a definite answer on the question of shelf-life?
  13. Thanks, I guess I will buy a couple of bulk spools. Fisherman Factory Warehouse has it for $15.00 for 3000 yards. At that price it's hard to pass up. I think if you keep mono in a cool dark place, it should last forever.
  14. I believe this line has been discontinued? Has anybody used it? What are the pros and cons?
  15. If you want plastic get the curado, if you want aluminum side plates both sides get the STX. ;D
  16. Do I have this right? Curado C was aluminum frame with plastic side plates. Curado D was aluminum frame with aluminum crank side plate. Curado E aluminum frame and plastic side plates. How is this better? :-/
  17. Thanks guys, I think I will pick up a spool of big Game and give it a try. Thanks, Joe
  18. Would like to know what others think about Big Game line? I have been using XT, but seems to go bad after about six months, and I always store my line in a cool dark desk.
  19. I just purchased one yesterday, but have not had it out yet. Would like to get others thoughts on this round reel.
