  1. You get either one of those to run across a bass he's gonna hit it. That said I like the Rapala best for no reason than it was the first one I caught a bass on.
  2. I have looked and looked just out of curiosity. I think its just a cheap Temu knockoff that someone colored. That said...It will still catch fish.
  3. I am down here in Southeast,Tx. There is always some trash laying around, but the last 2 years has been beyond bad. Torn castnets everywhere, food trash everywhere, Modelo cans strewn across the banks or in piles. ect ect. My church pond was completely fished out from people coming in middle of night and castnetting everything. You wouldn't believe it if you saw it with you own eyes.....but it actually has gotten significantly better in just the past 6 months. I don't know what changed but people appear to be getting more respectful of the environment down here.
  4. Ive looked out of curiosity and I can't find one like that. Please don't let this thread die without posting a picture of it...when you find it.

I love old traps. They work just as good today as they did back in the day.
  6. Heddon Spit'n Image
  7. Maybe this one?
  8. You got me. Now I need to see this one
  9. One of the guys filmed our last hunting trip with that DJI action camera. It was NEXT LEVEL COOL! Go Pro is falling behind.
  10. I kind of pride myself on how far I can arch it off the back corner of the boat. Never fails though that my rods double over half way through. I'm not sure who is fishing for who?
  11. Fish find a way. Here around the Houston area just about every neighborhood, strip center has a "drainage ditch" and they all have Bass. A worm under a bobber is the best way to quickly determine if a water body has fish in it, then you can focus on using lures once you determined. But I understand some fisherman have a reputation to uphold and live worms are a no-go.
  12. Thanks for the recomendation Fishtank. I ended up going with Powerbait at last minute. I am sure it was plastic stable since that is what they use in their packages. I will also check out that geecrack for personal use, or as alternate scent.
  13. Want to bring this topic back up. My 10year old son is finishing his lure project and we have tried "exotic lure scents" to stand out....but they all stiffin the plastic and seem to add a plastic smell to the package after a week. Like its litterly melting the plastic. I think these are meant for real time use and not to have your plastic sitting in for weeks / months. So should the way to go be just 100% anise oil mixed with glycerin? Trying to wrap this project up by next weekend. Don't want him to hand 30 of his friends a bag of stiff lures poorly scented lures. Thanks in advance.
  14. I remember the first ICAST that Carrot Stix debuted at. In my opinion they unintentionally set the trend that would later turn nearly ever rod into some bright color. Carrot Stix -->Reese-->Industry.
  15. ..but looks like you found some
  16. Man now you got me looking at them on Ebay. Totally forgot those old 733's didn't have a drag. Going to scoop on up for the kiddo. Thanks!
  17. After high school I worked in the tackle department for a large retailer. There was 80 year old customer that came in one day that changed my whole perspective of fishing. Never been the same. In super short form..... Fish don't keep up with the latest and greatest in tackle, they don't study aerial views of the lake, and they are not as smart as people want them to be. But now...many many many years later my paycheck is dependent on anglers unaware of any of the above. 🙂
  18. The daredevil spoons and Creme Prerigged worms come to mind first regarding lures. But even more than lures the first thing that comes to mind when I think of my dads tacklebox was a leaky bottle of this in the bottom compartment. Such a nostalgic smell for me.
  19. Any and all large jointed swimbaits. I don't like em. I give them away whenever they end up in my lap.
  20. I got my 5 year old the Zebco Omega. The previous Omega I had for my other son gave us 2-3 years of heavy saltwater/freshwater use(abuse).....which is darn good both for a Zebco and spincast reell!
  21. The googly eyes?
  22. I have tried all the fuffu hocus pocus stuff and none of it has ever worked for me and cost me $1000's on failed fishing trips where I spent the whole trip on the floor covered in ginger snaps, my wrist badly bruised from the amount of times I pressed my bracelet button and half conscious because of the Dramamine. The only thing that works for me...is the ear patch. When I put on the ear patch I go stand out on the bow and throw my hands up as the waves throw the ship around and I am perfectly fine!
  23. I have had braid do things that defy the very laws of physics. I have made 4-dimensional knots just by simply "over casting". It is for those reason that all my reels are back to mono.

I have been leaning toward a fanny pack as well. Going to see what plano has to offer. My hot orange one from the 90's doesn't have enough pockets and is full of New Kids on the Block trading cards.
